    Assistant Teacher

    Job Purpose

    • The Assistant Teacher supports the Class Teacher in creating a safe, organised, engaging, and supportive learning environment for pupils. The role involves assisting with classroom activities, pupil supervision, learning materials, and general classroom management.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist the Class Teacher with daily classroom activities and lessons.
    • Support pupils during individual and group learning activities.
    • Help prepare teaching and learning materials.
    • Supervise pupils during break, transitions, activities, and other school routines.
    • Assist in maintaining a clean, organised, and welcoming classroom.
    • Provide additional support to pupils who may need help with classwork or activities.
    • Assist with marking classwork, assignments, and other learning activities as directed by the Class Teacher.
    • Monitor pupils' participation, behaviour, and general wellbeing and report concerns to the Class Teacher.
    • Help ensure that classroom rules and school policies are followed.
    • Assist with school events, projects, clubs, and other assigned activities.
    • Maintain confidentiality regarding pupils, parents, and school matters.
    • Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by the Class Teacher or School Management.

    Requirements & Qualities

    • Minimum of an NCE, OND, or relevant qualification in Education or a related field.
    • Previous experience working with children is an advantage.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Patience, kindness, and a genuine interest in working with children.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
    • Good organisation and time-management skills.
    • Professional, responsible, and presentable.
    • Willingness to learn and follow the school's procedures and standards.
