Assistant Swimming Coach at St Saviour's School

Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and conducting swimming lessons and training programs in accordance with approved guidelines.
• Supervise swimmers to ensure safety and adherence to pool rules and regulations.
• Support the development of swimmers' technique, stamina, and performance in line with their abilities.
• Provide encouragement, feedback, and individual support to help swimmers improve and remain motivated.
• Assist in maintaining records of attendance, progress, and training outcomes.
• Ensure proper use and care of pool equipment and training aids.
• Promote health and safety awareness and respond effectively to emergencies as trained.
• Collaborate with the coaching team to deliver cohesive and high-quality swimming instruction.
• Support the organization and execution of swim meets, competitions, or events.
• Perform lifeguard duties when necessary and ensure first-aid protocols are followed.

Requirements:

• National Diploma (OND) or Bachelor’s Degree in Human Kinetics, Health Education, Physical Education, or a related field preferred.
• Certified Swim Teaching Qualification.
• Certified Lifeguarding Qualification.
• Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in swim instruction or coaching.
• Competitive swimming experience is desirable.
• Proficient in basic computer applications, including MS Office.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude, patience, and the ability to encourage and motivate learners.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow coaching programs and instructions.
• Strong awareness and commitment to health and safety practices in aquatic environments.
