Assistant Maintenance Officer at Start-Rite Schools

Start-Rite Schools is currently looking for an Assistant Maintenance Officer. 

Key Responsibilities:

General Maintenance:

• Performing routine tasks like fixing leaks, repairing appliances, and replacing light bulbs. 

Inspections:

• Conducting regular checks of equipment, facilities, and grounds to identify potential issues or safety hazards. 

Repairs & Troubleshooting:

• Assisting with diagnosing and fixing equipment malfunctions and performing minor repairs on structures. 

Assisting with Installations:

• Helping to install new equipment, fixtures, or furniture. 

Emergency Response:

• Responding to urgent maintenance requests and emergencies in a timely manner. 

Record Keeping:

• Documenting all maintenance activities, work completed, and equipment repair needs. 

Safety & Compliance:

• Adhering to all safety protocols, industry standards, and health regulations. 

Team Support:

• Collaborating with and providing support to the broader maintenance team and senior technicians. 

Asset Management:

• Assisting with the management of fixed assets, including inventory and ensuring their proper release. 

Skills & Qualifications 

• Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems, along with the ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Problem-Solving: Strong skills in identifying issues and finding effective solutions.
• Communication: Effective communication skills to report issues and coordinate with team members.
• Physical Demands: Ability to lift heavy objects and perform tasks requiring hand-eye coordination.
• Experience: Proven general maintenance experience is beneficial, though some roles may be entry-level with on-the-job training.
