The Assistant Cosmetics Formulator is responsible for identifying and developing innovative technology to create natural skincare projects for new launches, line extensions, and product renovation.
Responsibilities
Researching materials used in cosmetics, such as botanicals, preservatives, fragrance ingredients, emulsifiers, surfactants, and emollients
Conducting testing of new formulas to ensure safety and effectiveness
Mixing ingredients according to formulas and creating blends of colors to achieve desired effects
Creating formulas for hair care products such as shampoo, conditioner, and styling gel
Formulating products for the lips and nails, such as lip balm and nail polish
Testing products for compatibility with machinery used in manufacturing and shelf-life stability
Develops and performs all formulation requirements on new formulas; includes the creation of skincare, cosmetics formulation, mix development, product description/ formulation sheet, lab tests, stability testing/ monitoring, color verification, etc.
Requirements
B.Sc / HND in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science or related field
Minimum of 3 years working experience and exposure with mass production
Familiarity with cosmetics, cosmetic formulations, filling, labeling, etc.
Hands on experience and exposure in cosmetics formulation.
