Asset Manager at Phase3 Telecom

Job purpose

•  The Asset Manager will be responsible for the comprehensive management of the company’s asset portfolio (Generators, Vehicles, Aerial Fiber, Work tools), ensuring accurate valuation, and effective utilization of all assets. Key responsibilities include maintaining an accurate fixed asset register, asset details and depreciation, managing asset lifecycles from acquisition to disposal, ensuring compliance, supporting financial reporting with accurate data, and optimizing asset utilization and cost control. The role includes risk management, compliance with regulations, and optimizing asset profitability. This role involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, and insurance providers, to ensure proper allocation, maintenance, and protection of assets.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete analysis and take inventory of company assets 
• Liaise with Asset Valuers to ensure accurate accounting, and risk management to prevent fraud and losses 
• Collaborate with Supply chain management to keep track of the allocation of assets 
• Ensure that all records are up to date, accurate, and maintained. Monthly 
• Assisting with the development of the forecast budgets and producing reports on the same.
• Assisting with maximizing profitability to ensure that assets are maintained by due dates
• Liaise with insurance companies to ensure compliance with regulations 
• Supervise and manage subordinates as required.
• Provide advice to senior management, especially the Director, Regional Operations, on infrastructure priorities, equipment scheduling, and policy matters.
• Ensure all newly acquired assets are logged, tagged and tracked properly from the point of procurement.

Fleet Management

• Oversee repairs and maintenance of vehicles
• Vehicle registration to ensure compliance
• Prepare servicing schedules, repairs and ensure all vehicles are serviced as at when due to ensure motorable and optimal performance
• Distribution and Maintenance of Vehicles to meet Demand
• Prepare a weekly roster for drivers and monthly inspection of parts
• Monitor and retire all fueling activities that have to do with Operations and projects
• Insurance of Company Assets and Risk management
• Assist in insurance claims processing, investigation and documentation
• Identify and analyze risks associated with present Company’s insurance policy and propose improvement ideas to the HCS
• Assist in insurance of All company asset (insurance cover against fraud, theft and damages)
• Liaise with Insurer to update records of asset and insurance cover
• Identify and assess potential risks associated with assets and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
• Implement risk management plans to protect the company's assets and ensure compliance with industry standards

 Asset Management

• Account for value of all company's assets
• Accurately maintain accurate and up to date collated asset register, including location, costs, asset features, depreciation schedules and disposal information
• Contact the FSE’s monthly for timely submission of asset register in their various POPs.
• Track and verify information submitted by the FSE’s
• Period evaluation of Asset- collaborate with Asset valuers and insurers to update the relocation of Asset.

Maintenance

• Account for value of all company's assets
• Maintain accurate and up to date records of maintenance plan
• Schedule maintenance – Preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure all assets are functional
• Track and verify information submitted by the FSE’s
• Maintain Maintenance register of All assets

Vendor Management

• Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure high-quality services for asset maintenance and management 
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency
• Maintain relationship to ensure sustainability

Budget and Control

• Implement cost-effective strategies to optimize asset performance and minimize operational expenses

Compliance and Control

• Develop and enforce policies for safeguarding assets and ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls
• Manage the entire lifecycle of fixed assets, from initial purchase and installation to ongoing maintenance, tracking, and eventual disposal
• Periodic evaluation of Asset- collaborate with Asset valuers and insurers to update the relocation of Asset
• Optimize the use of fixed assets to improve operational efficiency and control costs
• Work with other departments, such as finance, procurement, and operations, to document, maintain up-to-date records and support business objectives

Qualifications

Academic and Education Background

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunication Engineering/ Accounting or any related field

Experience:

• Must have a minimum of 4 years similar work experience of which one should have been in a managerial capacity
