Asset Management Operations Analyst at Rand Merchant Bank

Job Description

The operations analyst is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the operational processes related to managing financial assets. Key duties include trade settlements, managing portfolio reconciliations, risk management, regulatory compliance and collaborating with various teams for operational efficiency. In addition, the officer will be required to develop operational processes and policies to support the business, address discrepancies in operational data and communicate effectively to internal and external stakeholders.

• Timely and accurate processing of investment trades and redemption payment
• Identifying inflows into bank accounts and collation of identified inflows for subscription advise  
• Collating redemption requests and advising the portfolio management team accordingly
• Cancelling and creating units/investments on the asset management software
• Preparing daily valuation for all portfolios 
• Managing the reconciliation of portfolios to ensure completeness, accuracy and identifying discrepancies or errors and resolving them promptly
• Monitoring and managing portfolio cash positions
• Staying informed about corporate actions affecting investments and coordinating necessary adjustments to portfolios
• Collaborating with Finance in the preparation of income and statutory reports
• Collaborating with client services teams to address inquiries and provide accurate information regarding portfolio positions, transactions and preparing confirmation of investments
• Fostering effective communication channels within the operations team and collaborating with other departments including Business Technology to resolve operational and technical issues
• Continuously identifying opportunities for process improvement, implementing changes to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk and overseeing the integration and optimization of technology solutions
• Maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date documentation of operational procedures and processes to ensure transparency and compliance
• Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards in all asset management operations
• Any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time
