Application and Database Security Engineer at PiggyTech Global Limited ("PiggyVest”)

About the Role

• We’re hiring an Application and Database Security Engineer responsible for database security and related matters.
• This role reviews, designs, and develops security operational processes, standards, and procedures utilizing current and new technologies.
• The Application and Database Security Engineer will also be responsible for coordinating with internal teams to implement database monitoring solutions and improving the security aligned with corporate business objectives and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining software application security policies and procedures.
• Providing technical guidance and direction to the engineering team about security policies and procedures.
• Developing and maintaining documentation of application security controls.
• Implementing software application security controls.
• Designing technical solutions to address security weaknesses.
• Analyzing system services, and spotting issues in code, networks, and applications.
• Following security best practices in performing tasks.
• Develop successful backup strategies based on recovery models for accomplishing optimal data safety and ensuring no loss of information.
• Analyze SQL, explain plans and modify queries to enhance performance.
• Implement mitigating controls for segregation of duty issues, and develop standard operating procedures in compliance with standards.
• Design and implement utilities that automate several DBA functions.
• Perform other DBA activities including space management and performance monitoring.
• Design and maintain database reports.
• Conceptualize, develop and integrate a data warehouse of database access-relate information.
• Assist the organization with creating its management systems and registration to international (ISO) security and service management standards.
• Other duties as assigned by the Head of Engineering, Chief Executive Officer/Chief Technical Officer, and the rest of the senior management team.

Requirements

• Must have an in-depth knowledge of MySQL.
• 4+ years of experience in security systems and their applications.
• Must have good knowledge of NodeJS, Javascript, Typescript, MongoDB, and Postgres.
• GCP knowledge is a plus.
