This role is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, monitoring and improving the performance of a company’s application & database framework.
Responsibilities
Administer and maintain applications & database systems, including monitoring, tuning performance and troubleshooting issues.
Installing and configuring applications, ensuring that data is synchronized correctly between databases, and troubleshooting application-related issues.
Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required given optimizing database performance and efficiency.
Ensure data security and integrity, including implementation of access controls, backups and recovery.
Collaborate with third-party developers and other team members to design and implement new features as well as troubleshoot any data-related issues in the Organization.
Support users and developers by resolving data-related technical issues and troubleshooting queries by guiding them with best practices.
Work with other team members to execute disaster recovery plans and procedures to ensure database availability during system outages or dysfunction.
Execute regular database maintenance tasks, including database defragmentation, backups, and database replication.
Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responses.
Write queries for report generation from the database where applicable when such reports are not available from the front-end applications.
Provide proactive and reactive data management support.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree / HND in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
Experience with Microsoft NAV or Dynamics 365 BC Application.
Working knowledge of Microsoft NAV / Dynamics 365 BC Development Environment.
Knowledge of database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL and ability to write SQL queries.
Experience in database backup, disaster recovery plan execution, database performance optimisation and data security.
