    Summary

    • The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week)

    Duties

    • Basic Function of the Position: Incumbent oversees, directs, and executes all administrative functions and responsibilities for the Medical Units as assigned by the Direct Hire Foreign Service Medical Specialists, Regional Medical Office (RMO), Regional Medical Office Psychiatric  (RMOP) and Medical Provider (MP).
    • S/he acts as a liaison and facilitator between the medical unit staff, and other members of the U.S. Mission community, the regional posts and medical and ancillary health services within the local community.
    • The incumbent is under the direct supervision of the Medical Provider.

    Qualifications and Evaluations
    Education Requirements:

    • College (2 years) or Post-Secondary School is required.

    Experience:  

    • Minimum of two (2) years experience as an Office Manager or Administrative Assistant is required.

    Job Knowledge:  

    • Detailed knowledge of Medical policies and procedures is required.
    • Detailed knowledge of the host country local medical care system as well as Nigeria general office supply vendors and service providers is required.
    • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures; and knowledge of customer service principles and practices is required.
    • Must understand basic accounting principles.

    Evaluations:

    • This may be tested. Applicants MUST address ALL language proficiency requirements to be considered.

    Language:

    • Level III (Good working knowledge) Speaking / Reading / Writing English is required.

    Skills and Abilities:  

    • Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Outlook to organize tasks, calendars, and contact database; MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) to organize and present information, and Internet Explorer is required.
    • Ability to be resourceful, proactive in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues, flexible, service-oriented, self-motivated, organize, multi-task, prioritize, work under pressure and able to work within the existing Mission structure are required.
    • Must possess strong customer service, verbal communication and listening skills.

    Agency Benefits:

    • Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in Lagos, Nigeria may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
    • For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.
    • The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.

    Other Information:

    • Hiring Preference Selection Process:  Applicants in the following hiring preference categories are extended a hiring preference in the order listed below.  Therefore, it is essential that these applicants accurately describe their status on the application. The certification letter should be on letterhead of the appropriate military branch of the service and contain (1) the military service dates including the expected discharge or release date; and (2) the character of service.  Acceptable documentation must be submitted in order for the preference to be given.

    COVID-19 Requirements for Eligible Family Members

    • As required by Executive Order 14043, Eligible Family Members who will be employed on a Family Member Appointment (FMA) or a Temporary Appointment (TEMP) are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 regardless of the employee’s duty location or work arrangement (e.g., telework, remote work, etc.), subject to such exceptions as required by law.

    Salary
    NGN 6,455,212 (USD 38,894) Yearly.
