Accountant - Remote at a Technology Company

Summary

• We are a technology company operating in Ikeja, Lagos, seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. While this role is remote, we desire that the candidate is based in Lagos. 
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant tax and regulatory requirements, and supporting the company’s financial operations with accuracy and integrity.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports.
• Oversee general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll processing.
• Perform month-end and year-end financial closing procedures.
• Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow.
• Ensure timely and accurate compliance with tax laws and statutory filings (e.g., VAT, PAYE, WHT).
• Assist with budget preparation, cost control, and financial forecasting.
• Conduct internal audits and support external audit processes.
• Provide financial insights and analysis to support management decision-making

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years proven experience in an accounting or finance role in a tech company. 
• Professional certification (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is a strong advantage.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage, and strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a high level of integrity.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
