Job Description:

As an Accountant at Leverage Seeds Limited, you will be responsible for managing the organization's financial transactions, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, timely reporting, and adherence to financial regulations. Your key responsibilities will include:

• Recording and reconciling the organization's accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Managing current accounts and performing regular account processing activities.
• Conducting accounting and financial oversight of the organization's operations to ensure accurate financial records and identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
• Preparing and filing tax returns, processing tax declarations, and managing tax assessments in compliance with relevant tax regulations.
• Developing and implementing specific accounting systems, such as general ledger, financial accounting statements, budget system, and audit system.
• Participating in the formulation of financial plans, analyzing and assessing the budget, and monitoring the execution of financial plans, providing suggestions for optimization.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making processes.
• Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, policies, and procedures.
• Assisting in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Supporting the external audit process and addressing audit queries.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of financial processes and systems.

Requirements:

To be considered for the role of Accountant, you should meet the following requirements:

• Hold a BSc degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience as an Accountant.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Possess excellent knowledge of financial regulations and tax requirements.
• Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office applications.
• Display strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exhibit attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
• Possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Show integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct in handling financial matters.
• Membership of a recognized professional accounting body (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is an added advantage.
