We are seeking experienced and detail-oriented Accountants to join our finance team in the oil and gas industry. The ideal candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably within the oil and gas sector. Accountants will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and supporting financial reporting processes.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and analyse financial statements in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial information to internal and external stakeholders.

Cost Accounting:

• Conduct cost analysis and provide insights into cost-saving measures.
• Monitor and analyse project costs, ensuring alignment with budgetary constraints.

General Ledger Management:

• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of financial transactions.
• Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
• Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis.

Compliance and Auditing:

• Ensure compliance with industry-specific accounting standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits.

Tax Compliance:

• Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local and international tax regulations.
• Stay informed about changes in tax laws and advise on potential impacts.

Cash Flow Management:

• Manage cash flow and liquidity, including monitoring receivables and payables.
• Implement effective cash management strategies.

Financial Analysis:

• Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes.
• Provide insights into financial performance and trends.

Project Accounting:

• Work closely with project teams to track project costs and revenue recognition.
• Ensure accurate allocation of costs to projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is a must.
• ICAN or ACCA or relevant professional certification is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on the oil and gas industry.
• Thorough knowledge of industry-specific accounting standards and regulations.
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
