Job Description

• We are looking for an Accountant to manage all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets.
• Accountant responsibilities include auditing financial documents and procedures, reconciling bank statements and calculating tax payments and returns.
• To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience with bookkeeping and a flair for spotting numerical mistakes.

Responsibilities

• Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Documents financial transactions by entering account information
• Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
• Summarizes current financial status by collecting information preparing balance sheets, profit and loss statements, cash flow reports and other reports.
• Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents
• Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
• Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
• Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information e.g. Bank's statements, Creditors, Debtors accounts e.t.c.
• Secures financial information by completing database backups.
• Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
• Carries out management accounting of the firm.
• Prepares payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
• Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations
• Compiles with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
• Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
• Maintains customer confidence and protocols operations by keeping financial information confidential.
• Handling of Tax matters with the Authorities and their agents.

Sales:

• Invoice check against payment
• Proforma invoice check
• On credit purchase control
• Real time debt management
• Distributors account management
• Giving approval for supplies.

Bank:

• Cheques inward and outward, verification, confirmation and bank balance control
• Payment verification
• Raising of cheques
• Bank reconciliations.

Purchasing:

• Confirmation and approval of purchase orders
• Price verification of purchased items
• Confirmation of items purchased
• Check of items against usage
• Check and control of return outward and return inwards of our products and purchased items
• Voucher signing and check
• Signing of purchase requisition.

Special Accounts:

• Inter-company accounts/reconciliations
• Outside individual/institutions’ loans (in or out)
• Concrete, Steel Products, and Cement Selling (Separate Account Maintenance and Management)
• Separate accounts for maintenance and management.

Requirements

• Candidates should possess a Master's Degree with 5 - 10 years relevant work experience.
