Job Summary

• The Finance Officer will manage the school’s financial operations, including budgeting, financial reporting, record keeping, and financial compliance, while providing financial guidance to the school administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage the school’s budget, financial planning, and forecasting
• Prepare accurate financial reports (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow)
• Maintain accurate financial records including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger
• Process financial transactions, invoices, receipts, reconciliations, and payroll
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
• Monitor cash flow and financial performance and identify areas for improvement
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, standards and internal controls. Develop and implement internal controls to ensure accurate and secure financial transactions
• Prepare for, respond to and support audits and regulatory reporting
• Provide financial guidance to school leadership and collaborate with departments on budgeting and financial planning
• Communicate financial information to stakeholders, including parents and teachers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (professional certifications are an advantage)
• 6–10 years’ experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a school or nonprofit environment
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, budgeting, and cash flow management
• Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting software
• Strong Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
