Accountant at Algorism Limited

• Algorism Limited, a technology and digital transformation company serving Financial Services, Retail, Telecommunications, Energy, and the Public Sector, is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support financial accuracy, ensure compliance, and aid business decision-making.

Role Responsibilities

STATUTORY & FINANCIAL REPORTING

• Prepare and file annual statutory accounts in accordance with applicable standards (GAAP / IFRS), ensuring accuracy and meeting all regulatory deadlines.
• Own the year-end close process, coordinating with external auditors and resolving queries efficiently to achieve sign-off on time.
• Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly with appropriate supporting evidence.
• Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, and cashflow statements with supporting commentary for the leadership team. 

TAX ADMINISTRATION 

• Manage the company's direct and indirect tax obligations, including corporation tax computations, VAT returns, and PAYE/WHT reporting. 
• Liaise with NRS on tax matters, ensuring all submissions are filed accurately and on time, and that any enquiries are handled promptly. 
• Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business, advising management and implementing process changes.
• Identify legitimate tax-planning opportunities and coordinate with external tax advisers where specialist input is required. 

FINANCIAL ANALYSIS & BUSINESS PARTNERING 

• Maintain robust transfer pricing documentation for any inter company transactions and ensure compliance with withholding tax requirements.
• Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis, enabling data-driven strategic decisions. 
• Perform detailed variance analysis, investigating deviations from budget and prior year, and presenting clear, actionable findings to senior stakeholders. 
• Partner with operational teams to improve cost visibility, challenge expenditure assumptions, and track return on investment for key initiatives. 
• Design, document robust internal financial controls, ensuring they remain fit for purpose as the business evolves. 
• Manage CAC filings, including confirmation statements and any changes to company structure or directorships. 

Requirements:

• Fully qualified accountant — ACA, ACCA, or equivalent.
• 2–4 years' post-qualification experience in a similar role.
• Demonstrable experience preparing statutory accounts under GAAP or IFRS.
• Hands-on ownership of VAT, corporation tax, WHT and payroll tax submissions.
• Track record of producing management accounts and insightful financial commentary.
•  Experience working with ERP or cloud accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage, NetSuite).
