    Account Payable & Admin Officer

    Introduction  

    We are a creative design and interior company; providing space rearrangement, soft and hard furnishings, interior and exterior projects for homes, offices, schools and churches.

    Role 

    We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable & Admin Officer to maintain processing and payment of vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

    Job Description

    • Maintain petty cash accounts and log all outgoing disbursements.
    • Create invoices and send to clients and follow up to ensure timely payment..
    • Monitor all vendor payment agreements to find discounts that can be used to reduce invoice amounts.
    • Responsible for paying all sales tax on appropriate invoices and making a note of each tax payment made.
    • Keep track of credits owed to the company and ensure all credits are properly applied to vendor payments.
    • Reconcile payable reports each month to confirm that all amounts paid were accurate.
    • Match Invoices with Purchase Order (if applicable).
    • Send invoices to Manager for payment approval.
    • Schedule pay runs based on standard company payment terms.
    • First point of contact with Debtors chasing payment of invoices.
    • Verify and process employee expense claims and manage the approval and payment process.
    • Update and maintain vendor database in a timely manner.
    • Perform reconciliations including supplier statement reconciliations.
    • Support the month end process by providing supporting documentation for month end journals.
    • Identify improvements to the accounts payable process
    • Any other duty that may be assigned.

    The Person 

    The ideal candidate should have / be;

    • OND in Accounting or Finance
    • A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in Accounts Payable.
    • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Power-point) and Accounting packages.
    • Solid understanding of basic accounting and accounts payable principles
    • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage financial records
    • Accurate data entry skills
    • Good understanding of tax matters.
    • Naturally wired to be cautious and pay attention to details.
    • Ability to build good relationships with vendors and suppliers
    • Ability to prioritize and multitask
    • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
    • Excellent numerical and analytical skills in addition to excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
    • Ability work as part of a broader team.
    • Ability to work under demanding timelines and pressure.
    • Dedicated, Disciplined and Committed to our goals.
    • Self-motivated personality.
    • Neat and well organized
    • Live within the Victoria Island/ Yaba/ Lagos Island/ Lekki axis.
    • Not more than 40 years old.
