Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and responsible Account Officer with practical knowledge of engineering and automobile manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will support daily accounting activities, financial record-keeping, reconciliations, cost monitoring, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and financial transactions.
• Prepare payment vouchers, invoices, receipts, journals, and other accounting documents.
• Perform daily bank, cash, and ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
• Monitor and record expenses, purchases, inventory, and operational costs.
• Assist in tracking production, engineering, maintenance, and project-related costs.
• Work with the Engineering, Production, Procurement, and Stores departments to verify financial and operational records.
• Assist with preparation of monthly financial reports and management schedules.
• Support budgeting, cost analysis, and financial forecasting activities.
• Ensure proper documentation and filing of financial records.
• Assist with internal and external audit requirements.
• Identify discrepancies and assist in resolving accounting and financial control issues.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or automobile environment.
• Practical knowledge of engineering and automobile manufacturing processes is mandatory.
• Good understanding of manufacturing costs, inventory, procurement, production, and maintenance expenses.
• Ability to understand and work with engineering-related cost information and production records.
• Good knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial controls.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting software.
• Strong numerical, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy, integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
• Professional accounting certification or part-qualification is an advantage.
