Role Description

• This is a full-time on-site role for an Account Officer located in Lagos. The Account Officer will be responsible for creating and analyzing financial statements, providing excellent customer service, and communicating effectively with team members and clients.

Responsibilities

• prepare tax documents
• compile and analyse financial statements
• Manage budgeting and forecasting
• Manage all accounting transactions
• Prepare budget forecasts
• Publish financial statements in time
• Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivables
• Ensure timely bank payments
• Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
• Manage balance sheets and profits/loss statements
• Report on the company's financial health and liquidity

Qualifications

• Financial Statements and Analytical Skills
• Experience in Finance and Customer Service
• Excellent Communication skills
• Ability to work well in a team and individually
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Experience in the retail industry is a plus
• 3 years working experience as an accountant
• Ability to interpret and analyse financial statements and periodicals
• Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite ( Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Hands-on experience with accounting software like
• Freshbooks and Quickbooks
• Advanced MS skills including Vlookups and pivot tables.
• Experience in general ledger functions
• Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• professional certification such as ICAN is a plus
