Account Executive at Doveland International Schools

Job Overview:

• We are looking for an Experienced Accountant with a minimum of 5 years of professional accounting experience to join our team in January 2025.
• The ideal candidate must hold at least a BSc in Accounting and demonstrate proficiency in QuickBooks software, PAYE calculations, statutory deductions and payments as mandated by the Nigerian Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), and other critical financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accounts Payable Management: Ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, supplier payments, and reconciliations.
• Salary Preparation: Manage payroll processes, ensuring accurate computation of salaries, allowances, and other benefits.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns (PAYE, VAT, and other statutory obligations) in compliance with Nigerian tax laws.
• Statutory Deductions & Payments: Calculate and remit pension contributions, health insurance, and other mandatory deductions.
• Software Management: Utilize QuickBooks to maintain accurate financial records and generate detailed reports.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in creating budgets, financial forecasts, and monitoring expenditure against approved budgets.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

Requirements:

• Educational Qualification: A minimum of BSc in Accounting or a related field.
• Professional Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on accounting experience in a similar role.
• Software Proficiency: Strong expertise in QuickBooks and other financial software.
• Knowledge of Taxation: Comprehensive understanding of PAYE, VAT, pension contributions, and Nigerian FIRS compliance.
• Attention to Detail: Demonstrated ability to handle complex financial data accurately and efficiently.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Membership in a professional accounting body (e.g., ICAN, ACCA) is a plus.
