    Academic Program Manager

    The London Academy Business School (LABS) is a product of established professionals from various fields that came together with objectives to add value to the educational sector in Nigeria and the rest of Africa. LABS is registered and approved by the Lagos State Government Ministry of Education as a registered academic and learning provider in Nigeria, duly incorporated with the Corporate Affair Commission (CAC) in Nigeria, with Number RC668274. It’s also accredited by the Centre for Management Development (CMD) in Nigeria and is a registered member of The International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) in Europe and the USA. To further its educational services, LABS has signed partnership agreements with several prestigious educational institutions, including Edexcel (Pearson) and OTHM Qualifications, through which candidates can top-up with universities degree at BSc, BBA, BA and master’s levels at the University of Sunderland in the UK and others. The Award for Training and Higher Education (ATHE) with progression agreement to a good number of Universities in the UK for top-up to BSc, BA, BBA, MSc and MBA. LABS is accredited to offer pre-degree courses in management, Accountancy, Information Technology, Tourism, Law and Teacher Training & A Level up to a postgraduate degree.

    The LABS’s academic manager role is a key member of the academy’s operations team and is primarily responsible for producing and delivering all academic content across all LABS programmes. The academic manager will be responsible for the following roles:

    The Role and Responsibilities

    • Responsible for providing leadership in relation to the design, development and delivery of academic programmes.
    • Responsible for providing academic leadership to colleagues through the review of academic programmes and liaising with colleagues dealing with data analytics and market insight.
    • Oversee marketing campaigns to ensure publicity of the London Academy Business School to increase student recruitment.
    • Work closely with students upon arrival to provide support services, including academic registration, course selection counselling, as well as advising and/or providing appropriate information on student enquires.
    • Provide ongoing academic monitoring and advice, which includes regularly gathering and updating students’ academic schedules and grades per term and annually to ensure students are progressing according to their assigned study plans.
    • Maintain regular communication via email and phone with students in a fast-paced environment that requires prompt replies and a high level of customer service while also developing and maintaining relationships and regular communication with appropriate departments at the partner’s university.
    • Monitor the process of recruitment, admission and induction of students, and enforce policies stipulated in the school’s regulations.
    • Ensure that the London Academy makes use of best practice in relation to operational procedures, with reference to quality assurance, enhancement and pedagogy.
    • Liaise and network with colleagues across the departments and externally with appropriate bodies and institutions, as required.
    • Perform other duties as required.

    Ideal Candidate Qualifications

    The successful candidate is expected to have the following qualifications and experience:

    • Undergraduate degree, a Master’s degree in Education or Social Science or a PhD
    • 3-5 years of management and/or teaching experience, certification, and proven work record in academic monitoring, planning, and administration. Prior Experience as a Director of Studies or Academic Manager is essential, preferably business and entrepreneurial.
    • Thorough knowledge of post-secondary education system in Nigeria, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and the United Arab Emirates.
    • Experience in leading the delivery of academic programmes physically and within an online learning environment in a Higher Education setting and have technical expertise in online learning platforms.
    • Client service orientation and excellent customer service skills. Ability to communicate with judgement, diplomacy, and tact with clients from different cultures and backgrounds.
    • High level of interpersonal, organization, written and verbal communication skills, ability to encourage teamwork and solicit team members’ ideas.
    • Strong analytical skills, with reference to developing innovative solutions and paying close attention to detail.
    • Strong computer skills (including Microsoft Office Suite and database experience)
    • Ability to work independently and as a team member; cope with workload pressure and deadlines, and work in a results-based environment.
    • Must understand that generating income is paramount.
    • Must be able to use Microsoft Team, Zoom and other online training platforms
