AC Technician at ASL Contractors

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and configure new air conditioning systems in accordance with project specifications, blueprints, and industry standards.
• Ensure proper placement and positioning of AC units, ducts, and related components to maximize efficiency and meet design requirements.
• Collaborate with other construction professionals to plan and execute AC system installations, taking into account structural and logistical considerations.
• Perform regular maintenance on installed AC systems to ensure proper functioning, energy efficiency, and longevity.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with AC units, including identifying faulty components, leaks, electrical problems, or refrigerant deficiencies.
• Repair or replace defective parts and components to restore optimal system performance.
• Conduct system performance tests and adjust settings to meet desired temperature and humidity levels.
• Adhere to safety guidelines, codes, and regulations while working with electrical and refrigeration systems.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards during AC system installation and maintenance.
• Conduct periodic inspections to identify potential safety hazards and address them promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of AC system installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Create service reports, work orders, and other relevant documentation to track job progress and provide necessary information to supervisors and project managers.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management, providing updates on job status, material requirements, and any challenges encountered.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in AC technology, industry trends, and best practices.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Diploma or equivalent. Additional technical certifications or vocational training in HVAC systems is highly desirable.
• Proven experience of at least 7 years as an AC Technician, preferably in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC principles, components, and systems, including both residential and commercial applications.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical manuals, and schematic diagrams.
• Familiarity with electrical and refrigeration codes, regulations, and safety practices.
• Ability to use a wide range of hand and power tools for installation, repair, and maintenance tasks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with construction teams and other stakeholders.
• Physical stamina and dexterity to work in different construction environments and handle equipment and materials.
• Attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
