    Sales Engineer

    Marketing & Sales

    Reports to: Sales Manager

    Job Description

    Job Objectives

    • As a sales engineer, a key duty is technical understanding of the product and demonstration to customers on how to use the product.
    • Generate product improvement or development ideas.
    • Generate and develop sales of up to TBD per annum

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    • Participate in the articulation and development of plans, programs and strategies to facilitate the realization of the company’s business development and sales strategies.
    • Conduct extensive market research and intelligence gathering on customers and competitors.
    • Responsible for developing opportunities in targeted industry sectors as well as source for clients, generate leads for sales or partnerships and close deals.
    • Build and maintain relationships with clients and customers.
    • Prepare bids and proposals to market products to potential or current clients/partners and carry out follow-up sales activities.

    • Industry Knowledge
    • Have a thorough and in-depth understanding of company’s products and services.
    • A very good understanding of the electrical and fabrication manufacturing market Culture-Oriented Mind-set
    • Must have a can-do attitude
    • Must be apt in proactive problem solving
    • Must be interested in continuous learning
    • Must always take responsibility and be accountable for individual and group goals
    • Must be able to work smart and leverage for outstanding results

    • Ability to understand technical information and relay it in a manner that is clearly understood by others
    • Ability to transmit information effectively i.e. in clear, unambiguous terms to customers, employees, management and other stakeholders to facilitate at all times the achievement of the goals and objectives of the organisation
    • Excellent command of the English language

    • Ability to write reports in clear terms using a mixture of words, charts, graphs, etc.

    • Must be ethical i.e. must follow the ideals and responsibilities of the industry as set out in the code of ethics guiding operations and operators in the industry.
    • Good appreciation and working knowledge of Microsoft office tools
    • Must be dedicated, responsible and able to work under pressure.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • A first degree in an engineering discipline. Electrical or Mechanical engineering preferably.
    • At least 2 years Post-NYSC experience
    • Proven working experience and track record of achieving sales quota in a given time period.
