Overview

• In this role you’ll be using your technical expertise to extrapolate data by using advanced computerised models.
• This job is very technical and heavily influenced by mathematics and advanced algorithms

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Data analysts work with large amounts of data: facts, figures, and number crunching. Analysts will need to see through the data and analyze it to find conclusions. Analysts should be able to collect, analyze, interpret, and summarize data in preparation for generation of statistical and analytical reports.
• Analysts must interpret requests from internal and external customers and translate those requirements into effective reports, graphs, and presentations.
• Data analysts are often called to present their findings, or translate the data into an understandable document. Analysts will need to write and speak clearly, utilize data visualization tools effectively, and easily communicate complex ideas to internal staff and customers.
• Data is precise. Data analysts have to make sure they are vigilant in their analysis to come to correct conclusions. Attention to detail is critical!
• Analysts will need to be able to locate and integrate external data source from free and paid sources into their analysis.
• Data can get messy – it comes from a variety of sources with varying standards and quality levels. Part of the analyst’s job will involve coming up with strategies for cleansing and reorganizing data to make it more useful for analytical purposes.

Qualification and Requirement

• B.A./B.S. degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Statistics
• 2+ years proven working experience as a data analyst
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong proficiency in data visualization tools
• Familiarity with statistical languages and environments
• Ability to identify defects in quality and workmanship and correct these issues
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication is a must.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
• Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
