Senior UNIX and VMS Server Engineer at Rutotech International

Responsibilities

• Technical Issues that cannot be solved by the L1 and requires an expert assistance to sort the issue within the SLA and Turn Around Time (TAT).
• Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements in RISC servers (HPUX, AIX and VMS) environment, ensuring updates are performed, solving functional problems, and heeding the priorities of the user community - Experience - more than 2 year.
• Expert-level knowledge in UNIX system administration (HPUX, AIX, SUN) and VMS
• Capacity Planning for all the UNIX/VMS systems
• Supervise Hardware Installs and Perform Complex OS upgrades
• Deep knowledge on volume managers (LVM/SVM)
• Knowledge on Virtualization, LPAR, ESX VMware.

Skills and Capability Requirements
Qualification:

• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines

Experience:

• Minimum 4 years of Unix/VMS along with cluster setup - systems administration or hands-on experience is a must
• Knowledge & Skills
• A Good understanding of UNIX-based operating systems, especially enterprise level HP UX/AIX/Linux/VMS distributions, including system installation / configuration, file system concepts, resource monitoring, user administration, kernel tuning, package management, and process control / management
• Good Hardware Knowledge of HP BCS or, IBM AIX Servers, HP VMS is a must.
• Good Knowledge on Virtualization, LPAR, ESX VMware
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Good team player with a can-do attitude
• Excellent trouble shooting and problem solving skills
