    Lead Mechanical Engineer (H/F)

    For a one year mission in Nigeria, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer :

    Mission : We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to be involved on the ASHAKA project in Ashaka, Nigeria, Africa (ca. 1000 km North East of Abuja). The Client is Lafarge Holcim. This EPC project consists of : Construction of a 16 MW Coal-Fired Power Plant (Circulating Fluidized Bed technology), with the following major equipment: CFB boiler, steam turbine, air-cooled condenser. The Plant will be operated in full island mode within the cement factory. You will participate in the site supervision. The EPC contractor is still to be nominated (Chinese EPC contractor anyway).

    • Issue adequate comments in the required timeframe concerning documents which are in the scope of the EPC contract;
    • Review contractual interface points as defined by the EPC contract;
    • Follow up the mechanical activities to ensure conformity with technical and contractual specifications and technical documentation;
    • Ensure that the EPC contractor is implementing adequate corrective action where necessary;
    • Review the EPC Contractor’s quality assurance plans and procedures for meeting the necessary quality requirements during construction and closely monitor the implementation;
    • Follow up the erection time schedule related to the mechanical erection and physical progress;
    • Work closely with other engineers of different disciplines to follow up site preparation, erection & construction of equipment for the eventual hand over to commissioning;
    • Verify that routine tests, such as system hydrostatic tests, are carried out as specified and that the results meet requirements;
    • Assist the project manager in the management of variation orders and claims between the Owner and the EPC Contractor;
    • Follow-up the punch list items for the whole plant;
    • Issue the necessary reporting related to the status of mechanical activities.

    Profile :

    • Having at least a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering;
    • Proven experiences in CFPP, coal-fired boiler, CFB technology, ST and mechanical matters in general such as piping, pump, valve, welding, etc... (at least 5 years of field experience);
    • Previous experience with CFB boiler is a must;
    • Site supervision experience in similar projects;
    • Very good knowledge in CFPP process;
    • Good knowledge of applicable codes, norms and standards;
    • English language is mandatory;
    • Team player.
