WORK HOURS: Full-Time; 40 hours/week
SALARY: OR Ordinarily Resident (OR) – N8,795,684 p.a.
(Starting basic salary) Position Grade: FSN-10
In addition to the basic salary, all allowances will be paid in accordance with the Mission Local Compensation Plan.
NOR – Not-Ordinarily Resident – AEFM – US$58,032 p.a.
EFM/MOH – US$49,804 (Starting Salary) p.a. Position Grade: FP-05/5*

The U.S. Consulate in Lagos is seeking to employ a suitable and qualified candidate for the position of Political Specialist in the Political/Economic Section.

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
The incumbent supports Pol/Econ Section by assisting in analyzing policy issues including national politics, local politics in Nigeria’s 17southern states, human rights, trafficking in persons, religious freedom, and other social or political developments. S/he communicates the significance and underlying drivers of each issue to Foreign Service Officers in the section. Additionally, s/he maintains a wide range of contacts at various levels and in various sectors, including government, academia, and NGOs.
