Job Description
Systems Engineer is responsible to build out, maintain, and troubleshoot the rapidly expanding Information Technology infrastructure including but not limited to in-house and Rackspace hosted servers, applications and storage.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure.
• Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
• Setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software, validating and implementing critical system patches, and allocating mass storage space.
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
• Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
• Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
• Administer, monitor and maintain in-house hosted and cloud hosted applications, servers and storage.
• Analyze system faults, troubleshoot and runs diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware to detect problems.
• Configure, implement and operate domain name controllers. − Provide 2nd and 3rd level support.
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
• Handle and maintain a Tier III datacenter infrastructure and operations.
• Upgrading servers to latest stable firmware releases and applying patches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or any other related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in Windows Server support and administration.
• Minimum of 3 years in cloud hosting, cloud storage and Rackspace servers and applications.
• Windows Active Directory deployment and administration. − Microsoft Exchange Server deployment and administration.
• Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX /Linux based environments.
• Symantec, Trend Micro, Sophos, Kaspersky and/or MacAfee anti-virus − Backup Exec, Windows/NT Backup, Symantec Server Backup Exec.
• Internet/TCIP/IP, DNS/E-mail/communication issues
• Strong knowledge in Citrix, SharePoint, Microsoft Navision, Intego
• Significant experience with major enterprise level database (Oracle, DB2, Sybase, SQL Server).
• Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks. − Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
• Strongly familiar with Tier III Datacenter infrastructure and operations.
