Mechanical Engineer at Ascentech Services Limited

The successful candidate should have an Indepth knowledge of the automotive/mechanical aspects of the job, involving the design and operation of ground-based vehicles, such as motorcycles, automobiles, buses and trucks and their respective engineering subsystems.

The candidate would be responsible for the following duties;

1. Should have a combination of engineering and commercial skills in order to deliver projects within budget.

2.  Should understand the complete structural design and know how to implement work on the exhaust systems or engines.

3. Should be able to design and produce visual interpretations of automobiles and their components using computer-aided design packages.

4. Applying mechanical, thermodynamic, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical principles to resolve engineering problems and find appropriate solutions.

5. Building prototypes of components, developing test procedures and conducting tests using software packages and physical testing methods.

6. Supervising and inspecting the installation, modification and commissioning of mechanical systems in industrial facilities or plants.

7. The candidate should be able to investigate the mechanical failures or unexpected maintenance problems as well as inspecting and test driving vehicles to check for faults.

8. Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs; applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.

9. Confirms system and product capabilities by designing feasibility and testing methods; testing properties.

10. Develops mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements; researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials; soliciting observations from operators.

11. Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.

12. Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.

13. Provides engineering information by answering questions and requests.

14. Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.

15. Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special services.

16. Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.

17. Maintains system and product data base by writing computer programs and entering data

18.  Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

19.  Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
