    Community Pharmacist

    Job Description

    • Dispensing prescription medicines to the clients
    • Ensuring different treatments are compatible
    • Checking dosage and ensuring that medicines are correctly and safely supplied and labelled
    • Supervising the preparation/mixture of any medicines
    • Keeping a register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control purposes
    • Liaising with doctors about prescriptions
    • Counseling and advising clients on the treatment of minor ailments;
    • Advising patients of any adverse side-effects of medicines or potential interactions with other medicines/treatments
    • Preparing dosette and cassette boxes, usually for the elderly but also for those with memory/learning difficulties, where tablets are placed in compartments for specified days of the week;
    • Arranging the delivery of prescription medicines to patients;
    • Keeping up to date with current pharmacy practice, new drugs and their uses.

    Skills/Qualification

    • Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized institution.
    • At least two years post NYSC working experience.
    • Good communication skills: must be able to listen carefully to what patients say, as well as able to explain complex and sensitive information to clients and other healthcare professionals.
    • Ability to work with others in a multidisciplinary team as well as lead others in a team;
    • Accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
    • A methodical approach to work.
    • Understanding of business principles.
    • Must discharge duties in professional and confident manner.
    • Ability to inspire the trust of others.
    • Willingness to take on a high level of responsibility.
    • Applicants must reside in Lagos.
