    2021 Therapeutic Efficacy Study (TES) Data Manager

    Background

    • Management Sciences for Health through the President’s Malaria Initiatives for States (PMI-S) project plans to support the National Malaria Elimination Programme  (NMEP) and the TES Core Team implement the Therapeutic Efficacy Study (TES) which aims to ensure the continuous monitoring of antimalarial drugs to strengthen relevant policies for the year 2021.
    • We are seeking to engage a technical consultant as a data manager for the 2021 TES with technical direction from the TES Core Team and reporting directly to the PMI-S Project and the TES Coordinator.
    • S/he will oversee data management for the 2021 TES, which includes data collection, collation, and analysis as well as coordinating activities of the field data clerks and ensuring timely and accurate completion of data collection, collation, validation, and analysis from the four sentinel sites. S/he shall also support the report writing.
    • The 2021 TES will be conducted in Four (4) Sentinel sites across 4 states. The sites identified for the study are Kaduna, Imo, Kwara and Lagos states.

    Job Description

    • Support the finalization of TES protocol, data management SOP, and training materials.
    • Train sites data entry clerks
    • Oversee data management (collation, validation, analysis, secure storage of source documents).
    • Set up and maintain electronic data management platform and web based application
    • Set up and maintain data repository for the study.
    • Set up and oversee the quality assurance system for data completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
    • Communicate any concerns or data issues immediately to the TES Coordinator and Core team.
    • Liaise with PMI-S SME Advisor on data analysis.
    • Assist in preparing the final TES report.
    • Data repository for the study

    • Collated, cleaned, and validated data set
    • Data analysis report
    • Review of the final 2021 TES report

    Requirements

    • Advanced degree in Social Sciences or related field
    • Minimum of 5 years’ post-graduate cognate experience in data management (collection, collation, validation, analysis, and report writing)
    • Experience working on a TES as a data manager with demonstrated strong data management and analysis skills will be an added benefit

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Previous experience with data management (collection, collation, validation, analysis)
    • Experience in data quality assurance systems
    • Experience in data management systems
    • Excellent attention to detail, with strong organizational skills
    • Excellent communication and ability to identify potential data issues and bring to the attention of TES coordinator in a timely manner
    • Excellent report writing skills a plus Key Deliverables
