    Technical Manager

    Job description

    As a rapidly expanding organisation, IMS is seeking a Technical Manager to join our team managing operations based in Nigeria.  This position offers the chance to progress and contribute to the Company’s continuing growth. 

    The Technical Manager roles and responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

    • Overall management of vessels under management in the region;

    • Implementation of planned maintenance systems;

    • Liaising with clients, crew and local stakeholders;

    • Appoint and manage subcontractors for vessel maintenance and services;

    • Oversee all procurement to ensure all costs are maintained within budgetary limits;

    • Monitor, manage and report the day to day technical operation and performance of assigned vessels, in conjunction with the on-board management, to ensure that applicable requirements for safety, quality, energy efficiency and environmental objectives are met;

    • Conducting Vessel Quality/Health and Safety (OH&S/ISM) and Environmental, including ISPS Compliance Audits.

    • Responsible for ensuring that the vessel documentation and filing system is in accordance with the ISM/ISPS Code.

    Tenure:  12 Months Full-Time (with possible extensions).
    Commencement:  February 2015.
    A competitive remuneration package will be offered to the right candidate.

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • Class 1 Motor Certificate of Competency;

    • Fully conversant with Class and Flag State requirements;

    • Extensive knowledge and experience in Marine Operations;

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role;

    • Excellent People Management and Leadership skills;

    • Strong commitment to the Company’s Health, Safety, Security, Environmental and Quality Management goals and objectives;

    • A high degree of self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously;

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
