    Job Purpose

    • The role of the Driver is to ensure provision of reliable and secure driving services for the transport of authorized personnel, delivery and collection of mail, documents and other related goods and supplies in/out of the Project location under the authorization of the supervisor.

    Responsibilities

    • Adhere to accepted speed limit when driving
    • Ensure vehicle is always inn good shape
    • Ensure vehicle is always serviced as at when due and recorded on log sheet
    • Ensure log sheet is always in the vehicle and updated
    • Ensure minor repairs are carried out timely
    • Ensure major repairs are reported and action taken as soon as possible
    • Ensure all transmission parts are in good working condition
    • Ensure all vehicle papers like, ownership, license, insurance etc. are intact and always in the vehicle
    • Ensure all safety kits, like fire extinguisher, triangular caution sign, first aid kit, etc are in the vehicle
    • Ensure all minor changeable parts are available
    • Ensure incidence report form is always available on board
    • Ensure all non - staff fill consent form before boarding
    • Ensure all passengers are well seated with cross belts fastened
    • Support in collection of documents from Humanitarian clusters within Maiduguri as requested by supervisor. E.g. cargo approvals, hub bookings e.tc

    Requirements

    • Secondary school certificate
    • Able to read and write in English to communicate with passengers and fill log sheets
    • Working knowledge of common languages in Maiduguri especially Hausa
    • Proven experience as a Driver
    • A valid driver’s license
    • A clean driving record
    • Minimum visual acuity of 20/50 (or corrected to 20/50)
    • Knowledge of area roads and neighborhoods
    • Ability to lift heavy packages and luggage as maybe required
    • Availability to take weekend and night shifts
    • A polite and professional disposition
    • Ability to remain calm in stressful driving situations (e.g. at rush hour)
