Qualitative Research Analyst at Transcription Services International Ltd

Details:

As part of your job, you will form part of a team to respond to request for proposals from clients. You will specifically plan, design, conduct, manage and report on qualitative research projects. You'll also use a variety of methods to collect, analyze and organize information and data, which you'll then present to others as a written report or oral presentation. You will use a range of methods, such as interviews, and focus groups to investigate the attitudes, behavior and experiences of population samples on specific issues.

Responsibilities

• Use an appropriate and creative methodology to design and manage research projects.
• Apply a range of research techniques to gather relevant information, including document analysis, surveys, case studies and interviews
• Develop and test theories
• Liaise with and direct social research field interviewers to gather information
• Carry out information and data retrieval searches using electronic databases
• Analyze and evaluate research and interpret data, making sure you've identified key issues
• Prepare, present and disseminate results
• Offer research-based briefings and advice, which may involve writing action plans

Qualifications:

Educated to First Degree level (Pgd and Masters is added advantage) in relevant discipline (e.g. Public Health, Social /Behavioral Sciences, Policy Research, etc.,)

Educated to doctoral level

Experience:

• Strong background in planning
• Proven research experience in international projects
• Experience in the design, proposal writing, and/or management of research program
• Experience in conducting qualitative research in African settings
• Experience in designing and implementing training involving adults demonstrate ability to analyze complex issues to facilitate decision making and action steps for improvement activities
• Experience in writing scientific documents such as reports, guidelines and peer reviewed papers
• Experience in writing and submitting ethical applications for rigorous studies
