    Enterprise Solutions Architect

    Would you consider yourself a top player in software development, but yet humble and just love technology?  Are you ready to work with cutting-edge technologies in a dynamic environment that is willing to offer a great total package to retain the right people? We are looking for an Enterprise Solution Architect.  The role is focused on the design of solutions which enable existing and new application components, existing and new applications, packaged software offerings and systems to work together within an enterprise or among enterprises. You will participate in a wide range of design activities and project management, from requirements analysis through to systems, application and/or process design specification. This position requires solid technical background in Java as well as knowledge across multiple platforms, processes or architectures as you will be involved with the design, development and implementation of software solutions.

    As a technical expert, the Enterprise Solutions Architect will provide guidance and make decisions on changes required throughout the design process, and will also be invloved in hands-on development along with the team of information technology professionals.

    Responsibilities

    • Implement web/mobile features and REST services as needed
    • Develop, test, and maintain robust, scalable, high-quality software for our technology platform and products
    • Contribute to continuous improvement of software development best practices in the areas of coding tools, languages and APIs, as well as software design and development processes
    • Ensure software quality of development team and coordinate with QA team and client UAT team
    • Take an active role in team Agile rituals.

    Desired Skills and Experience

    Required Experience

    • Minimum of eight (8) years of software engineering, building n-tier applications with enterprise Java (EJB, JDBC, Servlets, JSP, JSTL, JMS).
    • Deep understanding of Object-Oriented design and analysis including Java design patterns, and Object to Relational Mapping tools
    • Previous work writing to network-based APIs, preferably REST/JSON, XML/SOAP
    • Experience using common Java tools and frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, JPA, Struts2, HTTP, Axis, CXF, Restlet, MVC patterns, Eclipse IDE, SoapUI, Maven, or Ant
    • Experience with Web development mark-up and scripting languages such as HTML, XML, XSLT, JavaScript, JQuery, and cascading style sheets (CSS)
    • Demonstrated experience with test driven development and related tools (JUnit, DBUnit, CruiseControl, Hudson, etc.)
    • Experience leading and coordinating the work of developers using agile practices
    • Experience in business process models and the related data elements/model
    • Very good knowledge of relational database technology and SQL
    • A desire to work with the latest tools, technologies, and methodologies. 

    Bonus Experience (You will be at an advantage if you have these)

    • Experience in project management in a software development environment
    • Expertise in web services (SOAP, RESTful, XML/POX, ESB, etc.)
    • Knowledge of The Spring Framework Features including Spring Core, Spring Webflow, Spring Integration, Spring Security, and Spring Batch.
    • Experience working with Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL or other relational databases by generating SQL, stored procedures, views, sequences, and triggers
    • Experience in system integration, and enterprise-wide implementation of business solution
    • Proactive desire to continue to broaden and deepen technical, business and consulting skills
    • Experience working in UNIX/Linux environments or Cygwin
    • Excellent leadership, organizational, verbal and written communication skills. 

    Education

    • Bachelors degree in computing or related discipline with strong academic record required
    • A relevant postgraduate degree will be an advantage.
