    Project / Site Manager Nigeria

    Details:

    This position will be based in Nigeria and includes visits to our office in Berlin several times a year. It can be either a permanent or freelance position.

    Your responsibilities:

    You will be responsible for the expansion of our cookstoves project in Nigeria and the construction of a production facility:

    • Lead the construction and expansion of a cookstove production facility on site
    • Maintain and expand contact with local partners and networks and negotiate eligibility conditions and contracts as needed. If necessary, identify new project partners
    • Regularly assess and report on project progress to atmosfair,
    • Act as the local contact for contractors, service providers and local authorities
    • Work closely with our project managers in Berlin and local partners

    As part of all these functions, you will report to the technical manager of climate mitigation projects and the management.

    Your Profile:

    • A university degree in economics, natural science or engineering,
    • At least 4 years of professional experience including experience in working with and within developing countries and experience in project management. Experience in Nigeria is desirable,
    • Experience in the development of industrial projects and the construction of industrial and production facilities (e.g. Industrial facilities for stoves, breweries/beverage bottling),
    • Experience with metal and clay processing is desirable,
    • Experience in acquiring and developing properties/lots,
    • Independent and structured working style,
    • Affinity to numbers and complex contexts,
    • Motivation to act against climate change
    • Business-fluent English knowledge. Language skills in German and other local languages (e.g. Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo, or Fulfulde) are of advantage
