    Head, Waste Management Operations

    Job Summary

    • Successful candidate will report directly to the Plant Manager and will be expected to plan and direct all onsite activities in relation to the handling of untreated waste materials, the disposal of treated wastes and ensure compliance with federal, state & local regulations.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Coordinate logistics for transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste from client site including profiling, scheduling, manifesting and physically loading bulk and drum loads.
    • Consult with client to identify, design and implement cost-saving opportunities and proposals.
    • Ensure compliance with client and government regulations by performing necessary inspections, reporting and resolving all issues in a timely manner.
    • Administer client and vendor financial obligations including invoicing, reporting and contracts.
    • Promote a culture of safety, by ensuring site personnels are properly trained to perform assigned duties and comply with safety, environmental, federal, state and local regulations.
    • Ensure the proper and timely completion of tasks.
    • Prepare a weekly report on-site activities regarding environmental/socioeconomic and/or health matters, as well as external reports required to satisfy Government or Lender requirements/requests.
    • May occasionally be required to perform labor-intensive activities ( eg drum collection and bulking).

    Qualifications

    • Applicants must possess a University degree in Engineering (e.g Chemical Engineering, Natural or Environmental Sciences) or a technical field related to E&R Management regarding environmental and socioeconomic and/or health matters.
    • An MBA/ project Management certification will be an added advantage.
    • Project management experience in related field/operations.
    • Health & Safety Certification/ Training.
    • Customer service and vendor management.
    • An entrepreneurial skill set is highly valued with the ability to creatively achieve stretch goals and provide new services and value to existing customers.
    • Candidates must have good interpersonal skills, some supervisory/organizational talents, and proven ability to work in a positive team manner.
