Position Summary

• It is the responsibility of the preferred candidate to make sure that the company is carrying out her business with full compliance with regulatory/statutory laws and company-wide processes and procedures and ensuring that risk policies and procedures are communicated for the organisation.

Job Description

• Performing a risk assessment; analyzing current risks and identifying potential risks that may affect the company.
• Educating top management about significant risks and how they affect individual departments and the organisation as a whole.
• Creating business plans to limit risks.
• Determining, negotiating and agreeing on in-house procedures and standards.
• Assessing processes and ensuring that they comply with national and international levels.
• Acting as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance and quality.

Required Competencies/Qualifications

• Educational Qualification: BSc/HND in Risk Management, Statistics or Economics.
• Professional Experience: Not less than three (3) years working experience in a similar Risk and Compliance Officer.
• Ethical and Principled: Must be able to stand his ground and insist on procedures and not compromise on quality, ethics and high standard.
• Proactive: Must be able to control situations rather than being reactive.
• Planning and Organisational Skills: Good planning and organizational skills are key skills for the candidate to have.
• Communication Skills: Must be sound in both verbal and written communication.
• Innovativeness and Drive: Must be innovative and have the ability to generate and act on new ideas.
