    Executive Assistant to Chief Executive Officer/Program Assistant

    JOB DURATION: 6 MONTHS (With likely extension)

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Welcome2Africa International has been growing steadily, with a recent and permanent relocation to Abuja, The CEO is now seeking to dramatically accelerate growth. As the Executive Assistant To The CEO/Program Assistant, you will be mission-focused, seasoned, strategic, and process-minded leader with the interest in scaling up Welcome2Africa International. The Executive Assistant To The CEO/Program Assistant,  must be a leader who is able to help others at Welcome2Africa International deliver measurable, cost-effective results that make the vision a reality. Importantly, the successful Executive Assistant To The CEO/Program Assistant will have the skills, sensitivity, and personal confidence to tap into the power that each member of the team brings to the mission of being the worlds leading catalyst of finance and  investments  into Africa.

    The Executive Assistant To The CEO/Program Assistant will support the CEO to  manage all operational and administrative aspects of the organization Including communications, information technology, human resources, recruiting and hiring, facilities management. With a special focus on supporting program development and building local and international partnerships, whilst also increasing the CEO’s profile generally.

    The position of Executive Assistant could lead to other positions such as Program Associate, Stakeholder Relations, Business Development Director

    The duties of this position are set out below:

    Serve as the internal leader of the organization:

    • Lead the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against goals for the organization
    • Provide for all staff a strong day-to-day leadership presence;
    • Establish policies that promote company culture and vision
    • Write and submit reports to the CEO in all matters of importance
    • Arranging and attending meetings with the CEO
    • Researching and identifying clients prospective partners
    • Support in the development of a Robust database
    • Keep reports
    • Researches, prioritizes, and follows up on incoming issues and concerns addressed to the CEO including those of a sensitive or confidential nature. Determines appropriate course of action, referral, or response.
    • Works closely and effectively with the CEO to keep her well informed of upcoming commitments and responsibilities, following up appropriately. Acts as a "barometer," having a sense for the issues taking place in the environment and keeping the CEO updated.

    Initiate and manage HR processes this including:

    • Recruitment
    • Coaching
    • Retaining

    External Relationship Development:

    • Manage and cultivate existing relationships with funders to secure and expand recurring revenue streams.
    • Publicly represent Welcome2Africa with the media and external constituency groups including community, governmental, and private organizations and build excitement for Welcome2Africa’s brand.
    • Support in the increasing of CEO’s profile
    • Keep records of all meetings

    Strategic Plan Implementation:

    • Develop and implement a system for tracking and reporting on the progress of the strategic plan implementation.
    • Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures
    • Set comprehensive goals for performance and growth
    • Lead employees to encourage maximum performance and dedication
    • Evaluate performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics
    • Write and submit reports to the CEO in all matters of importance
    • Assist CEO in fundraising/expansion ventures
    • Manage relationships with partners/vendors
    • Financial Management and Oversight
    • Direct and administer all financial plans
    • Review and analyze financial reports
    • Support and advise the CEO in decision making
    • Lead and support organizational budgeting process
    •  Oversee reporting and monitoring of organizational performance metrics.
    • Provide overall financial oversight and monitoring.
    • Ensure that relevant financial data is presented to the CEO

    Program Operational Leadership:

    • Provide effective and inspiring leadership by being actively involved in all programs and services, developing a broad and deep knowledge of all programs.
    • Identify opportunities for Welcome2Africa to leverage cross-program strengths to take advantage of new opportunities and/or to address organizational challenges.

    • annual operations plan and budget
    • Lead the performance management process that measures and evaluates progress against goals for the organization

    Other

    • Bsc. Degree in any discipline
    • Must have a good understanding of Africa’s Agribusiness Sector
    • Must have some relevant corporate experience.
    • Must have excellent research ability
    • Must be responsible, reliable and trustworthy
    • Ability to use initiative is essential, as applicant will be required to work with minimal supervision at times
    • Must be computer literate as use of databases / IT skill is essential.
    • Excellent communications skills (verbal and written) are essential.
    • Capable and friendly with strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain client relationships.
    • Ability to take over existing matters and hit the ground running.
    • The successful candidate must be organized and disciplined and have the ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines.
    • Applicant must reside in Abuja, as the company will not provide accommodation.
