    Field Officer

    Tasks and Responsibilities

    • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
    • Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action
    • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
    • Ensure proper filing of documents
    • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
    • Implement needs assessments and support beneficiary identification and selection
    • Supervise delivery of assistance to selected beneficiaries
    • Carry out monitoring activities as directed
    • Performs other duties as reasonably directed from time to time

    Specific Responsibilities

    • Monitor displacement trends and new coming displaced person’s arrivals, prepare weekly reports
    • Coordinate with Program Managers/ Coordinators to ensure activities are implemented in agreed time line and according to the Core Competency Strategy plan
    • Monitor market prices for basic commodities, compile reports
    • Ensure activities are integrated either with NRC or with other partners
    • Supervise post distribution monitoring data collection and analysis
    • Liaise with logistics and other support departments to ensure good cooperation and coordination at the field level
    • Represent NRC with partners and stakeholders in Dikwa, as instructed and guided, on a daily basis
    • Support the program staffs in achieving their work plan
    • Develop a work plan for all core competencies in coordination with the Program Managers/ Coordinators

    Qualifications

    • Experience from working in humanitarian/recovery context in either Emergency, Shelter, WASH, Food Security or ICLA
    • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
    • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
    • Some knowledge of English
    • Fluent in Hausa and Kanuri
    • Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
    • IT tools experience
    • Experience in conducting field level data collection
    • Experience in participating in distributions of humanitarian materials

    Finance Technical Assistant - Roving

    Tasks and Responsibilities

    • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
    • Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action
    • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
    • Ensure proper filing of documents
    • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
    • Performs any other duty as reasonably requested by the Finance Coordinator/Manager

    Specific Responsibilities

    • Prepare day to day financial transactions
    • Verify post backs for Agresso import
    • Establish a good system of advances management
    • Management of bank and cash transactions
    • Facilitate cash counts and safeguard of cash in the office.
    • Facilitate audit activities

    Qualifications

    • Experience from working as a Support Function Officer in a humanitarian/recovery context
    • Previous (2yrs) experience working in an accounting department (preferably NGO)
    • Preferably Degree in Accounting or related field or equivalent
    • Ability to work as a member of the team
    • Willingness to be flexible and respond in a timely manner to support colleague when need arise.
    • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
    • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
    • Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
    • Some knowledge of English and ability to work under pressure
    • Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
    • Good IT skills and confidence in Excel and Word
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Good in oral and written English
    • Good knowledge of the Nigeria country context
    • Personal qualification
    • High level of honesty, integrity and transparency.
    • Ability to interact with National and International staff.
    • Ability to work quickly and accurately to meet deadline.

    The General Assistant (Maintenance Technician) - Roving

    Tasks and Responsibilities

    • Adhere to NRC policies, tools, handbooks and guidelines
    • Assist with the implementation of the support function portfolio according to plan of action
    • Prepare and develop status reports as required by management
    • Ensure proper filing of documents
    • Promote and share ideas for improvement of the support function
    • Execute maintenance duties as directed by maintenance manager or employer company
    • Follow maintenance schedules as outlined
    • Inspect, verify and carry out small repairs and adjustments as needed
    • Respond to company's maintenance emergency needs
    • Coordinate efforts across maintenance staff to make sure all tasks are completed in a timely manner
    • Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol
    • Performs any other duty reasonably assigned by line Manager

    Specific Responsibilities

    • Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
    • Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc)
    • Repair of water heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
    • Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
    • Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace broken window panes etc)
    • Undertake activities of pest/rodents control such as spraying insecticide, fumigation etc
    • Conduct general upkeep procedures e.g. landscaping, painting, carpentry, waste management, septic tank maintenance etc
    • Assist in the setup and maintenance of office/guesthouses ventilation, refrigeration and other needed systems in all field offices

    Qualifications

    • Previous experience in similar work strongly preferred
    • Diploma required or a technical skill certificate in building maintenance / technology or a relevant field
    • Knowledge of maintenance procedures, knowledge of structure or grounds to be maintained
    • Knowledge of systems to be maintenance (e.g. Electrical, roofing, plumbing)
    • Ability to lift heavy loads, ability to troubleshoot and ability to follow a maintenance schedule
    • Physical agility, manual dexterity and attention to details
    • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities

    Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:

    • Knowledge of the context of north-east Nigeria
    • Experience with similar maintenance related activities
    • Fluency in basic verbal English
    • Fluency in Hausa and one or more of the national/regional languages
