    Subject Teachers - Secondary School

    Principal - Secondary School

    The Principal serves as a Senior Leadership Team member of the school and is responsible for implementing and managing the policies, regulations, and procedures of the School, to ensure that all students are supervised in a safe child-centered learning environment.

    Inherent in the position are the responsibilities for scheduling, curriculum development, extracurricular activities, personnel management, managing emergency procedures, admin management.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    PROFESSIONAL LEADERSHIP

    • Supervise the Academic schedules of duties of the Vice principal, Supervisor and the Registrar as it relates to academic matters.
    • Organize, manage, evaluate and supervise effective and clear procedures for the operation and functioning of the school.
    • Oversee the supervision of Teaching and Learning Programme (Academic Programme)
    • Oversee the supervision and coordinate all the academic affairs of the school and ensure a high level of excellence as regards the school’s academic activities on a daily basis.
    • Ensure the completion of the school diary appropriately with the following entries:

             a. Scheme of work
             b. Topics taught during the week

    • Ensure the implementation of the Electronic Learning Strategy on ICT development and learning
    • Ensure the compliance of learners and academic staff to rules and regulations pertaining to curricular and co-curricular activities.
    • Liaise with other SMT members where appropriate.
    • To work in collaboration with the SMT members and identify priorities and targets for ensuring that all students achieve high standards and make progress, increasing teachers’ effectiveness and securing the school improvement.
    • To advise the Head Academics and MD and implement decisions in relation to staffing.
    • Implementation of Standards and Norms of British and Nigerian Curricular.
    • Oversees the Academic Programme of the school and reports lapses (weaknesses) to the principal.

    • Ensure active participation of learners in Co-curricular activities both internally and externally (in and outside the school)
    • Ensure that all academic staff updates their knowledge and keep abreast of developments in their respective discipline through active participation in subject associations, seminars, workshops and conferences where relevant.
    • Responsible for deploying personnel and resources efficiently and effectively to meet specific objectives in line with the school’s strategic plan and financial context.
    • Ensures that all materials required for the smooth operation of curricular and co-curricular activities are made available and utilized as and when appropriate.

    Head, Inspection Unit [Education]

    The Head of the Inspection Unit will coordinate the development, implementation and monitoring of the school’s academic programme and processes, which will include curriculum design, delivery and assessment.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist in the preparation, conduct and execution of internal and external audits of academic provision and standards, including the preparation for institutional review.
    • Prepare review reports of the school's practice in relation to academic quality and committee papers on proposed developments and initiatives within the school.
    • Work with the School Officers to improve the consistency of processes within the School to enhance the student learning experience.
    • Provide advice and guidance to school's officers and staff on the interpretation and application of its Regulatory Framework, including:

    Vice Principal - Student Affairs

    The Vice Principal - Student Affairs is responsible for supervising and overseeing all pastoral affairs of the school. He/ She will serve in a Leadership capacity, reporting to the Principal and is responsible for coordinating and nurturing each student entrusted to his/her care.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    PROFESSIONAL LEADERSHIP
