Overview of the role:
Reporting to Chief of Internal Audit or Audit Manager, the Senior Auditor role's contribute in the planning and leading the execution of audit assignments and follow-up activities.
The team is mostly based in Sohar, however a few positions are filled in Muscat.

Deliverables of these positions include:

• Contribute to the development of the annual Audit plan
• Develop and communicate individual audit plans
• Take a lead to carry out routine or special audits/reviews in accordance with the audit program covering the scope areas
• Establish audit programs where required
• Engage with staff/management in relation to the planning and execution of the audits
• Draft audit observations and recommendations
• Review draft reports to ensure relevancy and quality
• Provide analysis of effectiveness of implementation and closure of audit actions
• Engage with staff/management in communicating and follow-up of actions agreed
• Contribute to the development of Internal Audit policies, procedures and programs

Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Computer Science, or other field related to the nature of the position. Relevant professional certification e.g. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) is preferred.
• 4 8 years of experience in internal audit function, preferably combined with other experience (external audit, finance, controlling, or business activity).

Responsibilities;

• Prepare quarterly and annual global tax provisions using OneSource Tax Provision software
• Prepare monthly tax forecasts
• Prepare U.S., international, and state tax returns using OneSource Income Tax software
• Calculate U.S. earnings and profits for international entities
• Prepare local country income tax and indirect tax returns 
• Research and document findings related to U.S. federal, state, and host country tax issues
• Special projects
• Handle other projects, duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Must be CITN certified
• Minimum 4 years of income tax provision and tax compliance experience in a public company or large accounting firm setting, with at least 2 years income tax provision experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required; however, preference may be given to candidates with Master’s in Taxation, CPA’s or CPA candidates with part passed or other advance degrees
• Good working knowledge of ASC 740 Accounting for Income Taxes
• Experience preparing forms 1120, 5471, 8858, and 1118
• Preference will be given to candidates with upstream oil and gas tax experience
• Working knowledge of US GAAP
• Ability to complete basic to intermediate tax research
• Intermediate skills in Word, Excel. Experience with OGSYS a plus • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
• Original, creative thinker with the ability to formulate and express a contrarian viewpoint
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
