    Senior Associate, Climate Education and Leadership

    Position Summary

    • Teach For All seeks a Senior Associate, Climate Education and Leadership to work alongside the Global Head of Climate Education and Leadership to help grow our work in supporting network partners to deeply integrate climate education and in building a force of students, teachers, and alumni leaders who will foster climate mindedness, action, and resilience in rising generations.
    • The Senior Associate will play a critical role in supporting all the activities under the Teach For All Climate Education and Leadership Initiative. Their main duties will range from developing content for and leading knowledge capture from learning calls, to co-leading climate education training offers, to co-designing and -facilitating events, to supporting external partnerships and initiatives (like the Teachers for the Planet program), to leading work on strengthening student leadership development for climate action, to liaising with colleagues from across the organization (both from regional teams and global teams) in order to strengthen joint work. 
    • A successful candidate will have a strong subject expertise and experience in climate education, recent school / classroom insights from leading climate education work with students, the ability to distill and organize large amounts of information, an outstanding written and verbal expression, the ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven and dynamic environment, as well as a strong creativity, vision, and sense of possibility for growing the climate education work. In addition, candidates with previous exposure to and a strong understanding of Teach For All’s climate education work, lived experience of climate change impacts, as well as a proven understanding and interest in links between climate change and girls education are preferred. 
    • The Senior Associate will report directly to the Global Head of Climate Education and Leadership and be a part of the dynamic Teach For All Global Resources and Partnerships team.

    Overview of Teach For All & the Global Initiatives and Partnerships team

    • Teach For All is a growing global network of 62 independent, locally led organizations united by the purpose of developing collective leadership to ensure all children have the opportunity to fulfill their potential. Each network partner recruits and develops promising leaders to teach in their nations’ under-resourced schools and communities and, with this foundation, to work throughout their lives, from inside and outside of education, to ensure all children are able to fulfill their potential. Teach For All’s global organization works to increase the network’s impact by building awareness of the network’s approach, supporting the launch of new organizations, building the capacity of network partners by helping them learn from each other, maintaining network standards, and working collaboratively with the global education and development communities to catalyze progress towards ensuring all children fulfill their potential.
    • The Global Resources and Partnerships Team supports the global network in achieving objectives that are rooted in Teach For All’s intended outcomes and the needs of network partners and that reflect the evolving needs of children and youth for thriving in the fast-changing world of the 21st century. As part of this work, global initiatives and partnerships are developed and cultivated based on needs across the network, in order to live into our core purpose, accelerate progress towards our vision, and positioning education as a lever for addressing global challenges (e.g., education in emergencies and the future of work). Within this structure, the Climate Education & Leadership Initiative aims to infuse climate education throughout the education system by building a force of students, teachers, and alumni leaders who will foster climate mindedness, action and resilience in rising generations.

    Responsibilities

    The Senior Associate, Climate Education and Leadership, will play a critical role in supporting all the activities under the Teach For All Climate Education and Leadership Initiative. 

    Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

    Content Development and Knowledge Capture for Learning Calls

    • Coordinate the planning, design, and topic / speaker selection for monthly global Climate Education Community calls. 
    • Manage the planning and design of Climate Education and Leadership Fund learning calls. 
    • Lead the knowledge capture from learning calls and the development of Knowledge Insights documents for each learning call (incl., coordination with colleagues as needed). 
    • Engage on management and coaching of the global Climate Education Community, including providing inputs to the monthly community email and the WhatsApp group, as well as connecting climate education leaders to build their relations, learning, and impact.  

    Climate Education Training Offer

    • Coordinate the set-up, application process, and logistics of the Climate Education Champions learning series (6-month series held once a year; flier for the 2024 edition can be found here).  
      • Help plan, design, and facilitate the learning series sessions.
      • Provide support and feedback to participants, including by email and call.  
    • Lead development of a Teach For All online module on climate education (basic level) as well as written case studies of climate education leaders for deeper learning. This includes management of external contractors for the training design, as needed.

    Climate Education events

    • Help design and facilitate climate education events (co-)led by Teach For All, including both internal and external events as well as online and in-person events.
    • Work with event speakers from across the global Teach For All network (staff, alumni, fellows) to coach and support them in content preparations as needed.  
    • Attend and speak in online and in-person events as relevant, including international travel.

    External partnerships and initiatives

    • Support the initiation and management of external partnership (like the Teachers for the Planet program), including partnership events and coordination. 
    • Support network members in starting climate education aligned with the global Teach For All climate education work (like the recently launched Pan-African Climate Education Network).
    • Research and recommend opportunities for partnerships with other organizations, as suitable and relevant. 

    Student leadership development

    • Together with the Global Head of Student Leadership and Voice, develop an approach for growing and infusing student stories and views in the climate education work.
    • Support continued work by network members on building student leadership for climate action.

    Initiative management and liaison with colleagues across the organization

    • Support and co-lead parts of the broader Climate Education and Leadership initiative management and liaise with colleagues towards supporting a number of larger processes, including:
    • Administrative and financial processes, like donor reporting and fundraising.
    • Ad-hoc and structured support to network partners as needed (including under CEL Fund). 
    • Evolving systems of evaluation and data collection around the climate education work. 
    • Outreach work to grow Teach For All’s voice and thought leadership in climate education.
    • Maintenance and growth of existing and new platforms (like the Teach For All Climate Education Resource Hub) over time. 
    • Creating avenues for alumni to lead climate education work beyond the fellowship.

    Requirements

    • At least 3 years of professional experience preferred, including in teaching and with a focus on climate education.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Drive. 
    • English fluency required. Fluency in other regional languages is helpful, but not required.
    • A strong proven commitment to advancing equitable climate education is preferred.
    • Prior exposure to and a strong understanding of Teach For All’s climate education work preferred.
    • Proven understanding and interest in links between climate change and girls education preferred.

    Senior Director Development and Fundraising- Africa

    Position Summary

    • Reporting to the Head of Region - Africa and working closely with Teach For All's Global Development Team and CEO, the Senior Director will be instrumental in developing and executing the regional fundraising strategy.
    • The role encompasses building and nurturing an engaged community of philanthropists, family foundations, and corporate donors who share our mission to address educational inequities globally.
    • To excel in this position, the ideal candidate must possess extensive experience working across diverse national contexts within the region and be authorized to work in the region.
    • This role involves close collaboration with network partners and prospective allies to secure resources and cultivate enduring relationships. We seek a candidate with a strong fundraising background and a deep commitment to educational equity.  

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Strategy and Execution (30%)

    • Collaborate closely with the Head of Region – Africa, the Global Development Team, and Teach For All's CEO to formulate and execute a robust strategy for building and nurturing a thriving donor pipeline specific to the region.
    • Take ownership of a diverse portfolio of donors, employing a strategic approach encompassing identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship working in close partnership with Teach For All’s Global Development Team.
    • Own and manage a robust portfolio of donors by creating and executing strategies for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of current and new donors
    • Develop a strategy and execute on planning events and learning opportunities for Africa based supporters and prospects.
    • Identify ways to ensure Teach For All is an influential global voice among major donors, Africa champions, Connectors and policy makers.
    • Providing effective capacity building support on external operations to partner’s external staff.
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing donors, ensuring ongoing engagement and stewardship.

    Written and Oral Communications (20%)

    • Create and compose persuasive proposals and support requests in collaboration with Teach For All's Global Development Communications team, ensuring they resonate with potential donors and align with our mission.
    • Draft various communications and support requests on behalf of the Head of Region and other key stakeholders, maintaining a consistent and professional tone.
    • Develop appropriate recognition opportunities and benefits for donors, ensuring effective stewardship of gifts and donor relationships.
    • Cultivate a deep understanding of programmatic priorities to represent the organization convincingly to external constituents. Establish connections between donor interests and Teach For All's priorities.

     Systems and Operations (10%)

    • Oversee and maintain efficient operations and systems within the Africa giving portfolio, the Africa Regional team, the Global Development team, and the broader organization to ensure seamless functioning.
    • Utilize Salesforce and other data tracking systems effectively to gather insights and information that inform donor cultivation strategies, enhancing the effectiveness of fundraising efforts.
    • Collaborate closely with the Senior External Associate, Africa to sustain and enhance the giving pipeline and systems, ensuring the continuous improvement of processes and operations.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 10 years or more of relevant professional experience with a proven track record of securing significant gifts and grants
    • Demonstrated expertise in formulating and executing a strategic fundraising plan
    • Results-driven, strategic thinker with the capacity to set and achieve ambitious fundraising goals

    Global Lead, Data, Analysis and Planning

    Position Summary

    • To help live into Teach For All’s purpose and advance progress towards our vision, we are seeking a Global Lead for the Data, Analysis & PlanningTeam. This is a new team that seeks to foster a thriving data and learning culture, and to evolve and manage the frameworks, systems, and rituals that enable strong collaboration and data-driven reflection, learning, and planning.
    • The  team partners closely with our global program teams, global external teams, and regional teams in Africa, Middle East North Africa, Asia Pacific , Europe and the Americas  to support continuous learning, improvement, and collaboration.   
    • The Team Lead reports directly to Teach For All’s CEO & Co-founder.

    Responsibilities

    As the Global Lead for Data, Analysis and Planning, you will be responsible for setting the team’s vision and direction, building an inclusive, diverse, high-performing team, and working with team members and colleagues across the organization on the following and/or similar activities:

    Senior Associate, Corporate Partnerships

    Position Summary

    • Teach For All seeks a Senior Associate, Corporate Partnerships Operations to work alongside the Global Head of Corporate Partnerships and the team to help attract, retain, and grow our group of corporate champions and supporters.
    • The Senior Associate will play a critical role in supporting the actions, strategies and systems undergirding Teach For All’s cultivation of this deep and dynamic donor pipeline. 
    • His/her duties will range from being responsible for the day-to-day project management of current or future partnership or being responsible for the team's data system and operations to research and meeting preparation, as well as managing up to the Global Head of Corporate Partnerships to execute expansive partnerships with donors and prospects.
    • The Senior Associate will lead on designing and executing the actions, strategies and systems that will sustain Teach For All’s cultivation of this deep and dynamic donor pipeline. They will also develop and help execute a robust communications strategy for our corporate champions, as well as implement the systems needed to execute our cultivation calendar. 
    • A successful candidate will be able to liaise externally with managers and representatives of global or regional corporations and should be familiar with partnership and project management. He/she will be able to think and create partnership proposals together with the team and to coordinate the different actors involved. Also, he/she will also be rigorous and systematic, to create and maintain systems to increase the efficiency of the corporate partnerships team, produce high-quality work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven and dynamic environment, and project manage self and others toward diverse and shifting priorities. 
    • The Senior Associate will report directly to the Head of Corporate Partnerships. The Corporate Partnerships team represents approximately $9 million in annual revenue for Teach For All and more than 30 network partners all across the world.

    Overview of Teach For All & the Global Development Team

    • Teach For All is a growing global network of 61 independent, locally led organizations united by the purpose of developing collective leadership to ensure all children have the opportunity to fulfill their potential. Each network partner recruits and develops promising leaders to teach in their nations’ under-resourced schools and communities and, with this foundation, to work throughout their lives, from inside and outside of education, to ensure all children are able to fulfill their potential. Teach For All’s global organization works to increase the network’s impact by building awareness of the network’s approach, supporting the launch of new organizations, building the capacity of network partners by helping them learn from each other, maintaining network standards, and working collaboratively with the global education and development communities to catalyze progress towards ensuring all children fulfill their potential.
    • Network partners are responsible for raising the funds necessary to thrive within their local countries. Teach For All’s global organization raises the funds to sustain itself (more than $27 million annually) and to catalyze growth in low-income countries (approximately $5 million annually).    
    • The organization also seeks to support network partners in their efforts to raise funds. Over time, we would like to grow the extent to which the global organization supports network partners in their fundraising efforts, and the extent to which they support each other and the global organization in these efforts.
    • Teach For All’s Global Development team is responsible for generating the global funding partnerships necessary to maximize the impact of our global organization, catalyze impact in low-income countries, and support our network partners to reach their goals. To fuel the network’s anticipated growth, the team needs to raise almost $80 million in the next three years, while generating at least $27 million for network organizations over this time.

    Responsibilities 

    • The Senior Associate, Corporate Partnerships, will play a key role in supporting the organization’s portfolio of corporate supporters. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

     Fundraising Responsibilities

    • Lead the research of potential leads for the portfolio and coordinate the back end of the fundraising pipeline, identifying alignment between our work and donor interests and recommending concrete next steps for the organization to take.
    • Developing, preparing and managing partnership proposals and creating compelling PowerPoint presentations for funder meetings and touch points.
    • Communicating with a diverse set of network partner staff to maximize existing partnerships and help secure new corporate partnerships.

    Project Management Responsibilities 

    • Managing some of our corporate donor relationships, which involves project management and coordination of local/international network partner teams’ work.
    • Developing and tracking communications and cultivation/stewardship plans across various corporate partnerships.
    • Managing up to colleagues in order to execute on project plans for cultivation purposes (i.e. ensuring grant reports and milestones are on track)
    • Drafting strategy documents and collaborating with internal staff on key approaches to advancing this portfolio.

    Systems and Operations Responsibilities

    • Maintaining strong systems and project plans to advance the work of portfolio efficiently and effectively (CRM, weekly tasks, meeting briefs and downloads, calendar scheduling, etc., internal and external donor-related communications, etc.)
    • Managing the gift process for new donations and payments of the Corporate Partnerships Team while tightly project managing cross-team initiatives (e.g., building budgets or managing subgrants to network partners and donor reports/proposals)
    • Leveraging data systems to stay abreast of fundraising efforts across Teach For All to proactively identify internal collaboration opportunities, such as ensuring next steps are completed, making strategic suggestions for donor cultivation strategies, knowing progress and path to fundraising goals, and identifying next steps and owners.
    • Providing other administrative support on an as-needed basis

    Requirements 

    • At least 5 years of professional experience preferred, especially in non-profit fundraising or partnership management.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Google Drive 
    • English fluency required. Fluency in other regional languages is helpful, but not required.
    • Prior experience with fundraising and/or business development preferred.
    • Previous experience with Salesforce or other client relationship management system a plus.

    Career Education Project Manager

    Position Summary

    • The Career Education Manager plays a pivotal role in driving the growth and progress of Teach For All’s Future of Work initiative.
    • This position primarily focuses on operational and project management, involving close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
    • The Career Education Project Manager will be part of the Global Partnerships and Resources Team and work along with the Global Head of the Future of Work and the Global Head of Corporate Partnerships.
    • She/he will lead the execution of a significant multi-country career readiness education project that supports diverse organizations committed to preparing students for the world of work.  involving close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. 
    • This position is a two year fixed term contract that is contingent to donor funding. 

    As the Career Education Project Manager at Teach For All, you will engage in the following and/or similar activities: 

    Project Management:

    • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, and milestones, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
    • Ensure that the design and implementation of all project activities, learning calls, workshops, and virtual and in-person events, ensure they run smoothly and meet the desired outcomes.
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate timely delivery, high-quality document preparation, and efficient communication.
    • Create and maintain project-related systems and documents, including project plans, progress reports, and resource materials, to support the execution of the project and facilitate understanding among team members and stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop reports and resources to update stakeholders on project status, achievements, and challenges, and prepare detailed project reports to track progress and outcomes.

    • Play a key role in planning, designing, and executing community calls, events, meetings, and webinars for national career readiness education organizations, with a focus on fostering knowledge sharing and collaboration.
    • Actively contribute to the development of knowledge capture and sharing, both within and outside the community of practice, ensuring accessibility to all members.

    As the ideal candidate, you will bring: 

    • Three or more years of professional experience, with a focus on non-profit, partnership management, and project management in the area of youth development, preferably career education.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications and Google Drive.
    • Strong communication skills, including fluency in English (knowledge of other languages is advantageous).
    • Familiarity with community of practice facilitation and/or adult learning is preferred.
    • Prior experience with Salesforce or other client relationship management systems is a plus
    • Proactive and empowered approach to responsibilities and collaboration.
    • Strong project management skills with an ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and presentation abilities.
    • Solutions-oriented mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
    • Strong critical thinking and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Ability to comfortably work across multiple dynamics of cultural difference effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, and globally dispersed environment

    Additional Desirable Skills/Experiences (preferred)

    • Familiarity with Teach For All's network.
    • Experience in youth development-focused partnership and grant management.
    • Familiarity with career guidance and 21st-century skills-focused education.
    • Familiarity with EC Funding for education and youth.
    • Proficiency in additional languages such as Spanish.
