    EORE Training Specialist (International)

    Role objectives    

    • The EORE Training Specialists will have the responsibility to coordinate, oversee & provide mentoring & on the job training to organizations delivering EORE.

    The role objectives are targeted to:

    • Enhance protection of civilians & facilitate safe access to humanitarian & relief assistance across BAY states
    • The Training Specialists shall implement EORE activities to reach as wide a population as possible & lay foundation for increased network of EORE facilitators at project locations.
    • Hazardous areas with suspected or confirmed presence of explosive ordinance shall be recorded & reported to our client.
    • In addition the organization's targets are those that participated in EORE Training of Trainers course in 2022, that was delivered by our client & have been qualified as Instructors to deliver training to form EORE Facilitators. The targeted organizations are:

    Expected output:

    • Track EORE delivery activities of the organizations listed, ensuring delivery is in line with workplans & information is reported to our client through standard IMSMA repo.
    • Coordinate the activities of national EORE Specialists, recruited through CTG & embedded with CSO to provide a monitoring, mentoring & OJT (where required).
    • Provide mentoring & OJT to national authority organizations as required.

    Project reporting    

    • This role reports to the Project Manager & requires:
    • Implementing a rapid KAPB survey to ascertain the impact of EORE delivery in the project area.
    • Delivery of & mentoring the delivery of, EORE messages.
    • Mass media campaign through radio messaging.
    • Recording of hazardous areas.

    Key competencies    

    • Qualified as Instructor to train EORE Facilitators proven through CV & certification documentation is required.
    • Documented relevant experience of employment as EORE staff or community based project staff for a minimum of two years in the area of operation (BAY states) is required.
    • Documented relevant experience of delivering training to EORE Facilitators is desired.
    • Fluent in English written & spoken, level of fluency shall be stated in the CV.

    Field Assistant (WASH Data Management and Mapping)

    Overview of position    

    • Under the overall management of the WASH Program Manager, the incumbent will facilitate the field activities for the information capture & field data management to support our clients WASH humanitarian response in Nigeria.

    Role objectives    

    In particular, s / he will:

    • Support with the field implementation of the solutions designed by the IM WASH for monitoring activities, WASH infrastructure status & collecting information on indicators.
    • Support the quantitative & qualitative analysis of WASH’s data as well as the distribution of project dashboards & other information outputs.
    • Participate in meetings related to information management with local authorities, beneficiaries & local stakeholders relevant to the program.
    • Regularly monitor the field activities on a weekly basis & ensure accurate data entry into the WASH program tracker.
    • Ensure all documentation in relation to WASH activities, projects & missions are properly archived on the Share Point site.
    • Support the Senior Program Assistant (WASH Data Management & Mapping) in conducting training for WASH data collection for internal staff & external partners in the localities of our clients WASH interventions.
    • Support with weekly sitreps & other internal & external reports in terms of data / information.

    Project reporting

    Key competencies    

    • Diploma or degree in environmental sciences, WASH, ICT, computer science, statistics, database, business administration, or any related field.
    • Previous work experience with an international organization or NGOs in an emergency context would be a strong advantage.
    • Advanced knowledge of MS Office & Internet applications, MS Outlook, Access & Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Advanced knowledge of mobile data collection, especially ODK & KOBO.
    • Experience using software programs such as Excel & Power BI for data analysis.

    Field Coordination Assistant

    Overview of position    

    • Under the leadership & guidance of the Head of Sub Office & Senior Emergency Coordinator & with the direct supervision of the Area Coordinator, the Field Coordination Assistant will support & supervise the activities implemented at the field level.
    • The Field Coordination Assistant will lead field level coordination internally among the different units for smooth program operations & to engage with relevant stakeholders in the location.

    Role objectives    

    • The candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:
    • Act as the focal person for activities implemented in location within Anambra state.
    • Participate in the local coordination group meetings, that includes partners & government officials in Anambra together with our clients field team of respective units.
    • Support production of regular reports regarding the implementation of our clients activities, constraints, needs & gaps, anticipate constraints & advice on future developments. 
    • Support promotion of community based approaches in the implementation of projects & ensure mobilization of the communities for sustainability in close coordination with Team Leaders of respective units & PSU.
    • Support to ensure gender, protection, environmental & other relevant crosscutting issues are mainstreamed in close coordination with field team with guidance from our clients Protection Officer & respective PM's.
    • Support implementation of appropriate safety & security procedures related to the protection of our clients staff, its assets & operations.
    • Ensure that all relevant security information is properly disseminated in coordination with Field Security Officer.
    • Work alongside our clients staff councillor on identifying staff psychosocial needs & critical incident reporting & ensure provision welfare activity at the field level to promote positive wellbeing & resilience.
    • Assist & work alongside Procurement & Logistics Unit (PLU) or Resource Management Unit (RMU) to ensure smooth our clients operation in addressing vehicle / movement needs, supplies of project materials & information sharing on relevant issues of PLU / RMU.

    Project reporting    

    • This role reports directly to the Area Coordinator.

    Key competencies    

    • Completed university degree from an accredited academic institution preferably in disaster management, project management, economics, statistics, social science, sociology or psychology with three years relevant professional experience in emergency response (natural or human made disaster).
    • Experience in emergency response programming for marginalized populations, including need assessment, data collection, monitoring & review.
    • Knowledge of structures & functions of national & international humanitarian agencies, donors & organizations.
    • Familiarity with the emergency response, disaster management & disaster risk reduction in the region is an advantage.
    • Experience in the coordination of multi sectoral humanitarian response is an advantage.

    Psychosocial Mobile Team Member (Community Mobilizer)

    Role objectives    

    • Working with the PSS team to identify community resource persons for an MHPSS / protection assessment exercise & service mapping activities. 
    • Develop community mobilization & engagement protocols based on the needs, concerns & other risk factors identified during the MHPSS / protection assessment.
    • Organize & lead culturally appropriate community mobilization & engagement activities, that include all members of the community (women / men, girls / boys, people with disabilities, elderly, children & youth, etc.).
    • Working with the team to develop culturally sensitive messages & material for MHPSS & protection awareness raising & training. 
    • Disseminate community based messages related to health, psychosocial concerns, GBV, Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse (PSEA) & Trafficking in Persons (TiP) for the affected population.
    • Support the establishment & / or renewal of community support safety nets.
    • Identify cases that require specialized intervention & refer them to the appropriate service providers (Counsellor / Protection Assistant) in close coordination with the Protection Assistant & MHPSS National Program Officer& respond to cases referred by other organizations. 
    • Organize support & discussion groups & forums with the community & coordinate with the PSS team members as to the need to integrate vulnerable individuals within the psychosocial groups’ activities.
    • In coordination with the Protection Assistant & MHPSS National Program Officer, mobilize participants for community based activities & capacity building training, ensuring that the program’s activities are effectively communicated & carried out in participatory & inclusive ways.
    • Report daily activities.
    • Undertake duty travel to very challenging areas when necessary. 
    • Perform such other duties as may be assigned.

    Project reporting    

    • This role will works under the overall supervision of the MHPSS / Protection Program Manager & the direct supervision of the Project Assistant MHPSS / Protection in Katsina & closely coordinating with the MHPSS / Protection Officers (Gender Based Violence (GBV), Mainstreaming & Counter Trafficking (CT)) of the unit.

    Key competencies    

    • Experience in working on community level, e.g. with NGOs or civil society organizations is an advantage. 
    • Experience in working with different groups of the community (e.g., youth, elderly, people with disabilities) is an advantage. 
    • Working experience with our clients MHPSS / protection team, especially with one of the psychosocial mobile teams, is an advantage.

    Role objectives    

    • Conduct MHPSS & protection assessments in coordination with the Protection Assistant & MHPSS National Program Officer.
    • Map existing & available support provisions at the micro level, including but not limited to existing community structures & resources, relevant government ministries & parastatal services, health facilities, academic institutions, NGOs, CBOs, FBOs, as well as UN entities & design, together with the supervisor, initiatives to reinforce their capacity. 
    • Develop an intervention plan in coordination with the Project Assistant & provide tailored MHPSS & protection services to the affected populations based on the needs, concerns & other risk factors identified during the MHPSS / protection assessment.
    • Provide emotional & psychological support, including supportive communication, individual & group counselling as well as Psychological First Aid (PFA) to the affected population in need.
    • Provide direct assistance to the most vulnerable individuals & families of the affected populations, such as women, children, the elderly, persons living with disabilities, survivors of violence & socially marginalized or excluded persons. 
    • Follow up on the integration of the abductees / escapees & their families into community life.
    • Organize, together with the Social Worker of the PSS team, sensitization, information dissemination sessions (messages related to health, psychosocial concerns, GBV, PSEA & TiP) & problem solving group sessions on identified social problems encountered by the affected individuals & communities.
    • Strengthen existing social networks & promote participatory initiatives aimed at activating protective, restorative & transformative psychosocial factors at the community level, such as mutual support, intra & inter family cooperation, public gatherings, peer to peer support & dialogue.
    • Identify cases that require specialized intervention & refer them to the appropriate service providers in close coordination with the Protection Assistant & MHPSS National Program Officer & respond to cases referred by other organizations.
    • Organize support & discussion groups & forums & coordinate with the PSS team members as to the need to integrate vulnerable individuals within the psychosocial groups’ activities.
    • In coordination with the Protection Assistant & MHPSS National Program Officer, provide technical guidance, capacity building training & supervision to community focal points, community structures & volunteers in the concerned communities, ensuring that the program’s activities are effectively communicated & carried out in participatory & inclusive ways.

    Psychosocial Mobile Team Member (Social Worker)

    Overview of position    

    • Under the overall supervision of the MHPSS / Protection Program Manager & the direct supervision of the Project Assistant MHPSS / Protection in Katsina & closely coordinating with the MHPSS & Protection Officers (Gender Based Violence (GBV), Mainstreaming & Counter Trafficking (CT)) of the unit, the successful candidates’ primary role will be to implement MHPSS / protection activities in Katsina state, being a member of our clients Psychosocial Support (PSS) team.

    Role objectives    

    • Conduct MHPSS & protection assessments & Knowledge Attitude Practice (KAP) survey in coordination with the Protection Assistant & the MHPSS National Program Officer.
    • Map existing & available support provisions at the micro level, including but not limited to existing community structures & resources, relevant government ministries & parastatal entities, health facilities, academic institutions, NGOs, CBOs, FBOs, as well as UN entities & design, together with the supervisor, initiatives to reinforce their capacity. 
    • Develop an intervention plan in coordination with the Protection Assistant & provide tailored MHPSS & protection services to the affected populations based on the needs, concerns & other risk factors identified during the MHPSS / protection assessment.
    • Conduct community based activities including provision of Psychological First Aid (PFA) to the affected populations in need.
    • Organize & lead community mobilization & engagement activities including dissemination of community based messages related to health, psychosocial concerns, protection, GBV, Prevention of Sexual Exploitation & Abuse (PSEA) & Trafficking in Persons (TiP).
