    Senior Specialist, Financial Reporting

    Level: Mid-Senior career

    The Opportunity

    • IHS Towers is expanding our global footprint and we are seeking an individual to join our Finance team in Nigeria as a Senior Specialist, Financial Reporting.
    • The Senior Specialist, Financial Reporting will own the Company’s General Ledger and ensure that all transactions and documentation comply with IFRS and SOX requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare and distribute internal financial statements and reports, maintaining the highest quality and accuracy.
    • Manage monthly closing process, including reconciliations and analysis of all balance sheet and profit or loss accounts. Coordinate with other Finance functions to ensure timely and accurate execution of month close financial reporting activities.
    • Identify and propose accounting relevant adjustments required for accuracy of the Trial Balance and other routine accounting reports.
    • Prepare monthly summarized management financials and cash-flow statements (CFS). Make updates based on reviews with process owners and relevant stakeholders.
    • Identify need for changes to accounting policies and systems in response to changes in global accounting standards and the immediate business environment.
    • Continuously reassess financial reporting systems for all entities in Nigeria, matching trend of investing and financing activities to management expectation. Report identified exceptions to management.
    • Prepare stand-alone and consolidated annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS. Attend to all review comments and follow through to final sign-off.
    • Provide support for financial planning in the annual budgeting process and monthly variance analysis.
    • Coordinate the Company's annual audit with the independent auditors.
    • Maintain and strengthen internal controls over financial reporting.
    • Research and resolve accounting issues including evaluation and implementation of new accounting pronouncements to ensure IFRS compliance.
    • Prepare technical accounting memos that provide clear guidance on complex accounting topics.
    • Attend to other external stakeholder reporting queries and enquiries.
    • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting.

    Key Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics and/or related disciplines.
    • Relevant professional qualifications – ACCA/ ICAN
    • + 6 years in audit and assurance, accounting consulting and preparation of IFRS financial statements.
