    Principal - College

    Location: Orile Iganmu, Lagos

    An International secondary school in  Lagos seeks a visionary team-oriented educator and leader to serve as a school principal. The principal will lead the school into the future in leadership development, academic excellence, with personal and social maturity. The principal must be a committed, mature and effective leader who understands international education and has experience in teaching and administration at the basic and advanced education level (Junior & Senior Secondary School). The principal must be able to interact with students, communicate with parents and relate to the greater school community. He/she must exhibit strong Educational and Instructional Leadership, People and Relational Leadership, Operational Leadership, Business Management Expertise and Professional Management and Growth

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Oversee day-to-day school operations
    • Manage school logistics and budgets
    • Set learning goals for students and teachers based on national & International curricula.
    • Maintain an updated school curriculum reflective of the adopted education system
    • Monitor and report on teacher performance
    • Present data from school performance to school owner
    • Research new resources and techniques to improve teaching
    • Interview, hire & Fire school personnel as necessary
    • Review and implement school policies
    • Provide guidance and counselling to teachers
    • Handle emergencies and school crises
    • Organize school events and assemblies
    • Ensure a safe and clean environment for students (e.g. implementing hygiene rules)
    • Attend conferences to gain knowledge on current educational trends
    • Candidate would be expected and supported in the undergoing of personal and professional developmental courses.
    • Implementing and monitoring school policies and safety protocols
    • Overviewing administrative tasks (e.g. updating employee records)
    • Deliver on agreed upon Key Performance Indicators set by Board.
    • Make decisions on departments and funding options
    • Set a good example for children for positive development

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    • ·First Degree in any relevant field Masters Degree is an added advantage 10-year continuous teaching experience.
    • Experience in Curriculum development and implementation. In-depth knowledge of Canadian or British curriculum
    • 3 - 6 years’ experience as Vice Principal, Principal Educational professional certificate is an added advantage
