    General Manager, Finance (Livestock and Commercial Poultry)

    Location: Ogere, Ogun State

    JOB OVERVIEW;

    The GM Finance will report to the CEO and is responsible for the management of the financial function resulting in profitability and continuity in the short and long term. 

    BREAKDOWN OF DUTIES;

    • Prepare, plan, and implement the strategy for the Company, consistent with the strategy of the organization, resulting in a strategic plan.     
    • Direct and control the production of financial plans, budgets, and report, within the corporate guidelines to give both local management and corporate management adequate insight into the financial situation in Nigeria.  
    • Provide the Management Team with information concerning finance, investments, cash-management, and other financial matters, within the corporate guidelines to facilitate effective management.     
    • Co-ordinate need for long-term financing in keeping with financial corporate guidelines to ensure sufficient funding for long term and manages contacts with local banks. 
    • Plan, direct and control risk management in co-operation with corporate financial management to guarantee a balance between the (financial) risks to which the company is exposed and the cost of insurance against these risks. Handles claims. 
    • Plan and control local treasury within the guidelines set by Corporate Finance Department, to guarantee an effective short-term working capital management.  
    • Participate in building and maintaining relationships with key government officials in the relevant agencies (such as NOTAP, FIRS, and LIRS) in line with Company Policy and guidelines to create amicable relationships with regulatory authorities for the Company. 
    • Ensure the handling of tax matters and the assurance of subsidies within the local rules and guidelines. 
    • Collaborate with project stakeholders including third-party advisers, consultants, and financial institutions to achieve the corporate goals of the Company during construction implementation and development of power generation projects, as may be required by the Management, to support growth and expansion. 
    • Develop, implement, and control ICT systems in compliance with the ICT strategy set out by Corporate ICT, resulting in an up-to-date, reliable information system. 
    • Ensures that all positions in the department are at all times filled by competent staff through recruitment/selection, performance measurement/appraisal, training and development, transfer, rotation, and promotion in keeping with corporate guidelines in order that business results can be optimized. 
    • As a member of the Board of Directors of the company, prepare for, attend, and participate in the deliberations of the board of directors at the board meetings. 
    • Ensure good external relations with the Federal Ministries of Finance and Industries, the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Nigeria Customs Service, and other federal and state government agencies. 
    • Represent the company at meetings of the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG), Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA) and the Association of Food Beverages and Tobacco Employers (AFBTE).

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    •   Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting. MSc Finance or MBA a plus. 
    •  Minimum of ten (10) years cognate industry experience. 
    •  Professional certifications e.g., ICAN, ANAN, ACCA etc. are strongly preferred.
