    General Manager - Business Development Manager

    Job Description

    Our client is an Insurance Brokerage Firm that provides a range of innovative insurance solutions with a team of insurance experts and resources that work continually to assess, mitigate, manage, transfer, and where possible, eliminate risk.

    They are recruiting to fill the position below:

    Key Responsibilities

    • Identify new business opportunities, including new markets, growth areas, trends, clients, products, and services.
    • Generate leads and cold-call prospective clients.
    • Meet with customers/clients face to face or over the phone.
    • Understand the needs of customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet them.
    • Research and analyze sales options and identify business opportunities.
    • Develop and maintain productive business relationships with all prospects, partners, and clients.
    • Think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business.
    • Work strategically - carrying out necessary planning in order to design and implement operational changes.
    • Have a good understanding of the business products and be able to advise clients accordingly.
    • Ensure monthly financial and non-financial targets are met by the sales team.
    • Create a salesmanship mentality across the organization and encourage staff to be aware of sales opportunities.
    • Train members of your team, organizing external training where appropriate.
    • Discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing team.

    Qualifications

    • A Master’s Degree or its equivalent in a related field will be an added advantage.
    • At least 10 years cognate experience, 4 of which must be in a management position.
    • Certified membership with NAICOM and NCRIB.
    • University degree in any business-related course.
    • Additional professional qualifications or certificates are an added advantage.
    • Knowledge of the use of insurance brokerage software.
