    Finance Associate - Payments

    About the Role

    Klasha is looking for a dedicated and resourceful Finance Associate to join our Finance Department. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will play a key role in budget planning, financial forecasting, and conducting in-depth financial analyses. This role offers the opportunity for exposure to various finance operations, including treasury functions, and requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

    Job Description

    • Assist the Head of Finance in budget planning and management activities, including financial forecasting.
    • Conduct comprehensive financial analyses to inform strategic business decisions and identify efficiency opportunities.
    • Prepare financial reports and statements, ensuring timely and accurate communication of the company's financial position to relevant stakeholders.
    • Gain exposure to treasury functions, enhancing understanding of cash management, investment and debt management, and risk mitigation.
    • Collaborate closely with the Reconciliation Analyst to ensure accurate and complete financial records, coordinating regularly to verify transaction data.
    • Depending on organisational needs, may specialise in specific areas such as taxation, payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, etc. Responsibilities will adapt to accommodate these specialisations as required.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related course.
    • Understanding of the African payments ecosystem 
    • 2- 4 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in payments and/or fintech.
    • Proficiency in analytics and financial management software.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present and explain financial information effectively.
    • Good understanding of compliance activities in financial services.
