Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Cashier/Billing officer at our cancer hospital. The Cashier/Billing officer will play a crucial role in handling cash transactions accurately and efficiently, while also providing compassionate customer service to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using a cash register or POS system.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments, ensuring all transactions comply with hospital policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate cash balances and reconcile cash drawers at the end of each shift, adhering to hospital accounting standards.
• Greet patients and their families warmly, providing assistance and support as needed during their visit.
• Answer patient inquiries and resolve concerns in a compassionate and professional manner.
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment for patients and visitors.
• Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels of hospital supplies and notifying management of any shortages.
• Follow all safety and security procedures to prevent theft and ensure the safety of patients, visitors, and staff.
• Collaborate with other hospital team members to ensure excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
• Perform other duties as assigned by hospital management.

Qualifications

• B.Sc/HND in any relevant field
• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or customer service environment.
• Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with cash register or POS systems.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate the needs of the hospital.
