Backend Developer at Bukable

Job Description

• This is a remote position.
• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Backend Developer with over 3 years of experience to join our internationally distributed team.
• The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the wide range of Backend technology stacks listed below.
• The successful candidate will work closely with our team of developers and designers to develop, maintain and enhance our backend applications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enhance our backend applications using Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, JUnit, Mockito, RabbitMQ, Docker, AWS, OpenAPI, Maven, IntelliJ IDEA, and Git (GitHub).
• Ability to lead Backend team of developers and project execution.
• Collaborate with the team of developers, designers, and product owners to implement new features, fix bugs and improve the overall performance of the application.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, and consistency.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code that adheres to industry standards and best practices.
• Maintain and improve the application’s infrastructure and deployment processes.
• Continuously learn new technologies and methodologies to stay up-to-date with the latest trends in software development.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in software development, specifically in backend development.
• Part-time work for at least 20 - 25 per/week
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, JUnit, Mockito, RabbitMQ, Docker, AWS, OpenAPI, Maven, IntelliJ IDEA, and Git (GitHub).
• Experience with Spring and other MVC frameworks;
• Strong understanding of design patterns, OOP, development methodologies;
• Deep understanding and hands-on experience with the microservice architecture;
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful API design principles.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.) is a plus.
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and container orchestration is a plus.
• Strong understanding of security best practices and principles.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
